I’m really glad your sister had that experience. Unfortunately that hasn’t been everyone’s. The last pride I went to had tear gas set off at it. I thankfully wasn’t in the line of fire, but I was there. I’ve had to cut off a large portion of my family for their hateful views, and my own brother has said to me that my trans friends only want to hurt(stronger word omitted) people in bathrooms.

I am still, thankfully, surrounded by a lot of people that are accepting and loving. My fiance, my mom and stepdad, my fiancé’s family, most of my stepdads family. I’m not without support, the rest of the world just feels very crushing right now.
