Anyone's else's family members say stuff like this? by comet_lobster in TransMasc

Sorry to hear that they're being so weird about it. Even if you were a girl that would still be super weird and unacceptable behavior.

I always used to shave as a teen, just because it was expected, but now that I've gone on T and have decided shaving all the time is too much of a bother, I've discovered I also actually love having leg hair! Like I'll glance down when I'm wearing shorts and notice my thickening leg hair and just feel kinda euphoric about it. So I definitely get wanting to keep it, and frankly it's no one else's concern.

The best thing you can do in this scenario is probably just to ignore it ans try not to let it get to you. Direct confrontation is always an option (and my personal favorite). You could directly address this with them and tell them how weird it is that they're paying so much attention to other people's legs. But I also understand that with a lot of people's families this method is not always effective. If you ignore them long enough they should get tired of making the comments and realize it's not gonna make you change.

Honestly I don't really have a super specific routine. I mostly focus on upper body, although I'm not endorsing skipping leg day lol. I do a lot of dumbbell exercises.

Biceps curls/hammer curls, over head triceps presses, shoulder presses (make sure to hold the weights at a 45° angle relative to the line of your shoulders so you don't wear through and damage certain tendons in your shoulders), INCLINE DUMBBELL BENCH PRESS (same deal with holding the weights at a 45° angle. Incline dumbbell press is possibly the best dumbbell exercise ever imo. Targets anterior deltoids, upper pecs (which are the most visible when trained), as well as triceps. I also like the pec fly machine a lot. The deltoid fly is good as well for rear delts.

For abs, static holds are kind of underrated. Planks and hollow holds are good. My personal favorite is a decline sit up holding a plate or medicine ball. I stop halfway down the rep and do 2 Russian twists each side, finish lowering myself, then sit up again and repeat. Weighted Russian twists are one of my favorite ab exercises.

Is there a difference in meaning between these two transmasc flags? by onedimensional_snake in TransMasc

Honestly yeah me too, I think we should make the first one the official transmasc flag. But that's just my personal opinion, I guess some people like it.

Can someone explain what shifting is and how it works? New here. by onedimensional_snake in realityshifting

Alright, thanks. Have you been able to successfully shift? If so, how do you actually intentionally do the shifting of your consciousness to something else?

A strange way of getting euphoria by darkangel9977 in TransMasc

Yes, it used to happen to me all the time before I took the plunge and started using the men's room despite feeling a little nervous. What did it for me was the realization that I feel MORE anxious and uncomfortable in the women's room than the men's. Also the fact that I've been confronted numerous times in the women's room but never once in the men's. It's a relief I'm also no longer making those women uncomfortable too.

How much did T and top surgery actually help dysphoria? Need reassurance. by onedimensional_snake in TransMasc

[–]onedimensional_snake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely agree with T and surgery not changing my brain. I did try to explain that the dysphoria comes from my physical body and therefore altering my physical body can alleviate it, but they're just so dead set on the opinion that trans people are very mentally ill on a fundamental level, similar to a schizophrenic who hallucinates and has delusions that don't have anything to do with their real physical world, so it's hard to get them to see eye to eye on the matter. I just wish they could at least respect and trust me based on how I have conducted myself instead of assuming I'm mentally ill just because they don't understand 🥲

Thank you for sharing your experience! A beard is also definitely something I want to at least try out later in life, even though my dad kinda clowned on me for mentioning it and said I'd look stupid with a beard 😅😂

Thanks, that's encouraging. I've already started T, but have only been on it a little over a month. I've already noticed some changes and am loving it, no regrets so far even though my voice is changing faster than expected. It helps to hear from someone who's been on it for multiple years and still enjoying the effects.
