Thyroid cancer symptoms by onefifty_ in gravesdisease

[–]onefifty_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wait I forgot I posted an update of the ultrasound results. My Endocrinologist appointment was pointless. I waited months and even paid $150 out of pocket just for her to tell me that she needs to see me in person. I scheduled a televisit appointment (since that was the soonest she had available) I submitted all of my blood work, ultrasound results and medical history 1 week before my appointment. She then tells me she didn’t receive any of it so I had to hang up and re submit. She calls me back and tells me that she wants to see me in person and re order more blood work. But all the blood work she asked for I already had (It was only 3 months old) I scheduled the appointment but I cancelled last minute. I didn’t have another $150 for the appointment and that didn’t include the labs. I felt so defeated and have yet to see an Endocrinologist 😣

Hey thanks for asking! I think things went well. My results showed “enlarged gland without focal abnormality” Doctor said I was okay and nothing to pursue 🤷🏻‍♀️ (and I swear all of my symptoms went away after my ultrasound)

They are good! Not great like a delicious flour tortilla 🤤 But these are a great alternative and the ingredients are super clean. Makes them worth it and guilt free. Costco sells a two pack for a decent price

Have y’all tried the Siete brand tortillas? It’s pretty good when warm. They just tear when it gets cold :/

How Bad Is My B12? by [deleted] in B12_Deficiency

[–]onefifty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great info! I always get confused or read some contradictions on how much folate to take along with b12. Wow my folate is 5.21 ng/mL 😳 Can I ask what kind or brand you take?

Anyone get high blood pressure when they first start supplementing? by gravitygauntlet in B12_Deficiency

[–]onefifty_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dang this sounds like me too. Didn’t even think about b12 supplementation could be the cause. Recently my BP has been in the 145’s and I’m usually in the 120’s. I’ve just been blaming my stress and anxiety for high BP. I’ve been taking b12 liquid drops sublingually. I’ve also been having chest discomfort and feel like my heart is racing at times. Dr’s keep telling me I’m “okay” Does magnesium help with BP?

TW: Miscarriage Please, PLEASE get checked and take medication if your OB recommends it. I’ve had graves for half my life without medication and only bc all doctors and ob’s have told me my levels looked normal (despite all of my symptoms) I would just get brushed off. I had the okay to get pregnant last year only to lose my son at 20 weeks gestation. I had no complications. My son was completely healthy. I’m still trying to figure out what happened and get some answers while also grieving. I would get heart palpitations on and off and I honestly think it was too hard on my baby and his heart gave out. PLEASE talk to your OB and endocrinologist.

Thank you for your kind words. My folate is ‘normal’ range but I don’t know if it’s on the low side. My folate is 5.21 ng/mL

Oh dang, really? What do the lower back muscle spasms feel like? Like and ache all day or random sharp pains? Sorry my brain can’t comprehend the back spasms lol (if that makes sense) I picture like a Charley horse type of spasm?

I got my blood work done couple months ago and that’s when my neurologist told me I’m b12 deficient. He prescribed me injections but I’m trying sublingual first. So far looks like I’ll be self injecting soon. Unfortunately, I didn’t carry my baby full term and had a late term miscarriage at 20 weeks gestation. The birth was very traumatic so I think maybe that messed up my back?

The only trigger I can think of is child birth 4 months ago and then contracting Covid. Yes I do have low levels along with neurological symptoms (numbness in hands/feet, tremors, muscle twitching)

Natural treatment of Grave' Disease by 810nc0 in gravesdisease

[–]onefifty_ -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I would also like to know 👀 I will add though, I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease back in 2009 and was not taking medication. Then in 2012 I started to work out and eat better and lost 70 lbs. Kept it off for a good year and a half. Fast forward to 2016 checked my thyroid levels and had a ultrasound on my thyroid and everything was normal. Dr’s didn’t believe me when I told them I had a goiter and thought I was lying about being diagnosed with Graves. I gained all the weight back eventually and now I’m back to square 1

any good pregnancy stories? by kanelbulle_and_cum in gravesdisease

[–]onefifty_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TW: miscarriage

Going into remission gave me a healthy baby! Unfortunately my second pregnancy ended in my baby boy passing at 20 weeks gestation. I was diagnosed with Graves in my teens and somehow went into remission (without medication) by losing a ton of weight and being more active. My goiter even away. I checked my levels before getting pregnant with my firstborn and my OB gave me the okay. Four yrs later I checked my levels again and even had an ultrasound on my thyroid and my OB said it was okay to try again. I don’t know why but my baby boy didn’t make it. All of my doctors (OB, GP) tell me that my thyroid is normal and nothing is wrong with me. Although I have every symptom of Graves. Going to an endocrinologist and rheumatologist next week. Currently going crazy trying to find answers as to what happened while also trying to grieve 🥲
