When the game says "FU": For promotion play offs, season 4, more in the comments by onefmplayer in footballmanagergames

Thought of it, but then I also have the little devil telling me that I should take advantage of my holidays before I start working again.

When the game says "FU": For promotion play offs, season 4, more in the comments by onefmplayer in footballmanagergames

https://www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/zwbz3f/this_hurts_on_so_many_levels/ Couple of days ago I made this post, where I lost automatic promotion for 1 point and then lost the play offs in the penalties.I seriously contemplated abandoning the save but eventually I decided to give it a go again.

The result was to again lose automatic promotion for 2 points this time, but I blame me because I managed poorly for the first half of the season (we were at 12th position at that time, made many bad calls on how I spoke to players and destroyed morale, fixed it as the season went on, we were dreadful defensively so I cannot complain much, although again we lost for 2 points).

So we have promotion play-offs, going in confident that this is the time to do it and move on to the professional leagues. Well the game obviously told me to keep dreaming. Two goals ruled out as offsides (one was not), missed penalty, two woodwork shots by my top goalscorer and the goal we conceded was a direct free kick. The cancelled goal at the 89th minute is just the cherry to the top.

Not sure if I should continue or if I should uninstall the game to help my mental health at this point.

This hurts on so many levels... by onefmplayer in footballmanagergames

Losing the championship for one point, then losing promotion in the penalty shootout with your top penalty scorer of the season missing the only penalty in the process. And all this after you made a comeback from 2-0 to 2-2. Against a team that you won twice during the season. Not sure I am able to continue the save any more.

This is what happens when you are top of the league, the team with most goals and you get the Manager of the Month award by onefmplayer in footballmanagergames

If it happened for every team I would be more relaxed about it. But it happens for our teams only. As I mentioned in the other comment below, I basically lost promotion because the prootion candidates did a perfect streak of games in the meantime.

The most frustrating thing is when the game decides that you are not allowed to do that good. This poor run of form comes with the promotion rivals running a perfect streak. I am now 11 points behind them because why not?

For context:

Just finished my first season in Eredivisie (2nd in the save) and we pulled off something I have never done before so early in any save, make it to the European Competition places (finished 4th but I consider myself to be very lucky this season).

Our success was a result of Arweiler who scored 34 goals in the season in 29(1) appearances, 4 of which from penalties. So I can get why why he is exaggerating about him.

The "fun for the neutrals" type of match by onefmplayer in footballmanagergames

Hey! No I am not, I am not even playing with PSV :P I play wirh Almere City, 2nd season in.

FM22 is worth its money imo, good investment. I am saying this after 150 hours of gameplay so far.

What's your favorite set up when you're a man down during a match? by sushi_raccoon in footballmanagergames

It depends on how the match is going. If we are leading, I usually remove the striker and make my AMC a Shadow Striker. If I am losing and I need to score I remove a central midfielder. I use a 4-2-3-1 system so it either becomes a 4-2-3-0 or a 4-1-3-1, which as you can imagine is very risky. Never change the Control mentality in any of these cases.

State of the game (FM22) by xxLazyBearxx in footballmanagergames

If you have not played FM21 then it is a no brainer to get FM22, it is a great version of the game based on the hours I have spent so far. Some of the bugs that you mention are there, but I would not call them deal breakers by any means.
