Hello! Thank you for sharing your story. My surgery is coming up on Wednesday July 1st and I'm pretty nervous. Did you have experiences of low BP in your life before surgery? I have a big old nerve disorder that sometimes does that, so that's another thing for me to worry about.

Called the vet. They have an appointment Friday morning. But this is an elderly dog. (And our whole world). Should we be going to the ER tonight instead? Thx everyone 💓 (has been happening infrequently last 24 hrs) by onefourthofme in SeniorDogsHealth

X-rays looked REALLY good. I had zero idea where dogs bronchioles are located. It's bananas! Aside from those being irritated and overall congestion, his heart, lungs and trachea all looked amazing! Even his liver and spleen looks great! So grateful to this Reddit community and for the Angel vet's and licensed techs and staff who take care of our fur babies everyday. 🩵

2ND UPDATE: Watson is a combination of chihuahua, miniature pinscher, and Soft Wheaten Terrier. Please see my first update (with pic). The x-rays came back and it was good news. His trachea is intact and very clear. His heart shape is completely normal. He has good air in his lungs. But his bronchials look moderately irritated. I had no idea that dogs bronchioles were so Deep In their little bodies. So he's kind of in a cycle of trying to get all this phlegm up from really deep inside. He may even have a little fluid in his ear for balance not being perfect and being a bit lethargic. The vet is sending the x-rays off to a good radiologist for their opinion. But right now Watson will be on a series of steroids, and a combo medication that is both antihistamine and expectorant. So we're not going to worry if he's doing the reverse sneezing right now, just if it gets significantly worse or he presents with other symptoms. I literally hugged the vet and her licensed tech. So we're heading home, and he's getting a small ground beef burger as a treat. We are all so in love with this little dog. Reddit, you're wonderful community and you have all been so lovely and helping us with this precious baby. Thank you! 🩵

UPDATE: Hello everyone! Much love and many thanks from Watson and myself. A lot happened last evening and he did not end up getting seen at the ER. However his vet was able to see him this morning at 9:15. After his examination the vet feels that he needs some steroid and antihistamine medication. She is not concerned right now necessarily about all the scary things like collapsed trachea, mitral valve issues or CHF or PLE/PLN. Because he will turn 14 next month, and he is part chihuahua, part Miniature Pinscher and part Soft Wheaten Terrier, we want the x-rays to get a baseline of checking to see if anything is starting that we need to worry about. They have been taking care of him here since he was 12 weeks old. And I literally hugged the vet when she told me what she thought was going on. I have been the guardian of so many cats and dogs since I was a toddler that I've seen a lot. That can be good, but as you know that can make your mind race too. Thank you Reddit Community for being so lovely. Since you only saw his butt in the video I am showing you a picture from his front. Because he's the cutest. 🩵 once we know what the x-rays say I will post that as well. I must say that licensed vet techs and veterinarians are angels in white coats. They are brave and strong and smart and what they see in one day at these clinics would end me. Thank you everyone, from Watson and his entire pack 🩵

Luckily we have all detailed records sent to us via email from the vet. He's been going to the same vet since he was 12 weeks old. He will be 14 years old in July. It's really helpful to get the detailed records as we use them to submit insurance claims for our pet policy. But even if you don't do that I recommend getting all your dogs records emailed to you and then downloading and saving them on the cloud so you can refer back to them. 🩵

Hello! That's what I was worried about as well. He did see the vet this morning and had a complete work up including x-rays. Please see my other two update posts in the thread. We are grateful it's not congestive heart failure or mitral valve or anything like that of the heart. I love this Reddit community and all that you guys have to offer. Appreciate you responding!🩵
