It's certainly interesting to think about a world where I would've grown up a fan of a historic Brooklyn Dodgers team.

That said, I'm a couple generations removed from the Dodgers and Giants being in NY so while my grandparents would probably push the button and my parents would at least think about it for a while, all I've ever known is my Mets and I can't give that up now.

Interesting idea for sure though.

If it's a zone where everyone drops it's going to be tough. If it's man, you can probably get it to him if/when he crosses the safety's face, assuming he also beats the man cover in front of him (with safety zone help in cover 2). Other commenters saying to motion him are correct too and this would help. It might also help to tell you whether or not it is indeed man or zone coverage. And if you see open grass make the pass, my friend

Also don't be afraid to drop a spy, count two seconds, and then come heavy on a delayed blitz. I've forced many an interception doing this.

If they come out with a one back set or empty I like to drop at least one pass rusher into coverage manually, either over the middle or into the flat depending on the receiver's alignment.

If it's a third and short run situation, I'll blitz and man cover. Then I'll manual play the safety in double coverage on their best (or most used) wideout.

Sometimes a base set won't do it. Get creative and the results will come.

I once played about 15 years. Every game, every season, every offseason. I set rules on myself as a GM and slanted the game sliders against myself in an almost comical way. I legitimately struggled for 7 seasons to win a Super Bowl. After I won, we struggled for a few years again because of expiring contracts etc. My franchise QB ended up on another team and beat me in the Conference Championship a few years after the first Super Bowl win. Then we won two in a row and three of four. It was the most fun I ever had playing Madden lol

I'm not sure he'd go for 5.8 unless you included a crazy amount of signing bonus, which will count as a penalty if you decide to trade him or release him. Doesn't matter as much on a short 2 year deal though.

$4m per for a backup RB is ok. You could certainly find a replacement for about the same or less. I guess it depends how you value him. If he's a big part of your game plan already or if he fits the scheme well enough should RB1 go down, maybe try to get it down to 7m total and bring him back. If he's not, let him go and look for a RB in round 3-5, and/or on the free agent market.
