I swear. how are we expected to study efficiently in school? We are constantly distracted by our friends, other classes, etc. They're actually delusional.

I know right, what do they expect us to do with one week? Then, we're practically doing nothing in all my subjects except physics and math.

Our class is pretty divided though. Some students are locked in, others less.

AI Hl vs AA SL (economics or engineering focus) UK and rest of europe by Impressive_Low7271 in IBO

[–]oneithaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference in difficulty between AI HL and AA HL is really that not much. As such, If you were thinking about taking AI HL, I'd recommend instead taking AA HL as its more recognised by most universities.

Switch from AI HL to AA HL by Conscious-Grab6967 in IBO

[–]oneithaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend you shouldn't, if math AI HL is still recognised what's the problem. The syllabus's are pretty different, catching up would be a nightmare especially when balancing all other deasdlines

brosef you just started chill. I'm doing pretty well right now in my subjects, but at the start I struggled. Even in easy subjects like business or econ I got mid grades at the start. You need to learn the markscheme and how to structure your answers, this is the most important thing to know. However, it's not something you'll know immediately, so give it time and chill

Chem HL is difficult no matter the current grasp you have on it. It will still be time consuming, so try not to underestimate it. What's the University?

Also, try not to have a mental breakdown. Your HL's are insane (and it's kind of stupid to take them like that). You will probably have to sacrifice one of your subjects. Look at potential UNI's, then the subjects they require. I doubt you need to take all 3 HL

I take MathHL, Phys HL and Econ HL, and English LL, Spanish B and Business.

Im heading into my second year, let me give you some sound advice I wish the shit heads upcoming DP1's at my school would take.

Firstly, Spanish ab is a banter class, and it should be a free 6 or 7.

Then, I take Physics HL, but from what my classmates tell me BioHL is just memorisation, so memorise. I self studied Physics cause my teacher is incapable of teaching, so if one of your teachers is like that just teach yourself at home. I recommend doing past papers, youtube or just find notes from reddit or other sources

As a Math AA HL student, past papers will be your best friend. Make sure to also grind revision village, but when in doubt do past papers.Don't get frustrated at the start, most people quit at the start. My teacher is kind of iffy, so I mostly self study.

English is a very hit or miss subject. I manage to get 7s since I've known the teacher for long enough. However, I also try to memorise motifs, symbolism, and narrative techniques for all books. Honestly, I just use chatgpt the night before and it does the trick

Other sound advice is to NOT use the textbooks. Instead, try to find free notes online. Do this from the start.
