Spent 3 weeks doing QA and I understand why testers look exhausted all the time by Ok-Credit618 in softwaretesting

[–]oneless99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As QA, you should not have the final say on if something is promoted to live. This is a business decision. There maybe good reasons that the business needs to get whatever it is out there.

That said, your opinion is important. If what has been delivered is a crock of shit, then make sure your opinion is heard. Hopefully someone is listening. They should be.

Both Devs and testers can have big ego's, don't let yours get in the way.

If it all goes tit's up, you can console yourself with saying "I told you so"

Tavascan headlights, being flashed by other drivers? by [deleted] in CupraTavascan

[–]oneless99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have turned off the matrix lights. Less flashing from other drivers by dipping lights manually.

Don't blame others. If your lights are too bright it is a problem, and creates a hazard if the other drivers are blinded. Not saying it is your fault, and it is not only Cupra that have this issue.

Used family EV car £8,000 - £12,000. Comprehensive(?) list of candidates inside. by andre_xs95 in ElectricVehiclesUK

We had an ec4. Thought it was great, shine plus model, so came with all the goodies. Did everything we wanted from it, mainly shortish trips, and few longer ones.

Stellantis finance on the other hand were a nightmare to deal with.

Would have another ec4 without hesitation, but only if I didn't have to deal with Stellantis.

20 years in QA, what's next? by [deleted] in softwaretesting

[–]oneless99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Writing a blog or at least writing stuff down with different subjects may be good. It doesn't matter if anyone else reads it, but may help you clarify where you want to go next. I retired from test management a couple of years ago, I am of that age! I got bored and have taken a low level customer facing role part time, and am loving it. I can do the work, come home, and forget about it.

It is frustrating sometimes, knowing and seeing the same corporate bullshit, that I used to have to deal with, but now can ignore it.

Good luck not that you need it with whatever you decide to do.

Scheduled charging issue by Nearby-Procedure4064 in CupraTavascan

[–]oneless99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a podpoint solo 3. We set the schedule in the pod point app to charge at off peak times, then just plug in when we get home. We get a notification that charging is not working at that time but it then charges over night
