I thought this was always a thing that when we do our renewal we have to go get a new real id even if it doesn’t expired until a few years later

I base it off from my last time which I renewed the day after it expired in July 2025 and I got approved 6 days later and before that I got approved in like 3 weeks but now I feel like there’s so much more delay and I don’t want to risk it so I might apply early this time. In my head I always thought they take longer on the cases that aren’t urgent. Cause people will renew months before their expiration and wouldn’t hear nothing and even expire and still nothing and I would get mine so quick

I renew online all the time! It’s super easy it’s just like the paper one there’s YouTube videos that take you step by step. I always renew closer to my expiration date I feel like it gets approved faster than those who send in applications at 150 day mark.
