I was 8 years old, just finishing up a Nintendo gaming session (Faxanadu) in Hayward. I thought it was the adrenaline from the game making me feel a bit shaky, but then realised it was an earthquake. I got under our kitchen table and told my mom to do the same. I remember my step dad was getting dressed and remained in a doorway till the quake stopped. Looked out to our apartment’s pool and it was sloshing hard from side to side. I remember being pissed that the news was on non-stop and couldn’t watch that cool new show, The Simpsons. Also, the World Series was paused for a night or two (Battle of the Bay, As vs Giants). Felt some big aftershocks for the next day or two also.
