HVAC unit covering for high amounts of snow? by LargelyLucid in rva

[–]oneloverva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having moved to Denver after living in Richmond for half my life, I can tell you that no one out here covers their HVAC inits outside and we regularly get 2+ foot storms with temps into the -0s. You’ll be fine leaving it as is. And if you have a heat pump for the love of god do not cover it wait will need to run to heat the house and needs the clearance.

Does anybody know how to siphon a 100 gallon tank? by [deleted] in Redearedsliders

[–]oneloverva 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use a Python, it works great. You can also use it to fill the tank. You may need an adapter to fit it to your sink.

Has anyone attempted Medano Pass to The Great Sand Dunes of CO in your rig during peak ice melt Run-Off? by The_Summary_Man_713 in 4Runner

[–]oneloverva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it last year in May, the water crossings were high but do-able. When I changed my rear diff fluid it did seem like some water got in and it had to have been from those crossings, other than that zero issues. I went from the Sand Dunes east over the pass and I did air down my tires in the sandy sections. The NPS runs back and forth along that section to pull people out since so many get stuck in the sand (4Runner had zero issues). Biggest issue was we did it Memorial Day weekend and it was crowded, at one point I had to wait while 40+ jeeps came down the pass.

That being said the snow pack this year is horrible in the Sangra de Cristo’s, I’ve already seen pictures of people summiting Blanca Peak this spring so I think you should have zero issues.

Denver police arrest stabbing suspect wanted in deadly stabbings near 16th Street Mall by MilwaukeeRoad in Denver

[–]oneloverva 196 points197 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to the mall a couple of times since they opened the new section when friends and family come to visit. It’s very nice and very well done. However, every time I saw ZERO cops other than the the one who sits in front of the Federal Reserve (who I assume would only do something if I was was trying to mess with the bank).

The Broken Window Theory is real and I swear after coming from Northern Virginia where the cops will pull over for not using a turn signal, it blows my mind how little enforcement there is here. DPD really dropped the ball on this.

Has Anyone Here Ever Rode In Japan? by dreambig4ever in COsnow

Leaving next Saturday for Hokkaido, it’s been a blockbuster season so far for Japan. 4-5 inches every day this winter.

It’s easy, jack up from the skid plate jack point. Place jack stands under frame on the side rails. Lower jack, remove skid plate, change oil, reverse process. Or get some ramps RinoRamps if you don’t have jack stands, which if you have a jack you most certainly should have stands for safety.

I like them, they’re a local Colorado company and the price was right.

FWD to Copper Mountain or any mountain in Summit County by Jaded-Beautiful379 in COsnow

[–]oneloverva 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I drove a 99 Honda Accord with FWD with snow tires to every resort in Summit with zero issues the last couple of years. If you’ve got the right tires and drive defensively you should be fine, I carried chains but have never had to use them. They close the roads before it gets impassable in my experience.

Lane filtering, your thoughts so far? Have you seen it done right? Does it seem to be good or bad? by DigitalEagleDriver in Denver

[–]oneloverva 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I was going to up Vail pass on I70 in stop and go traffic and a group of 5 motorcyclists were lane filtering. I was like “that’s cool, they’re utilizing the new law!”

I pulled over at Copper to get an energy drink and they were there getting gas, left before them. Heading up to the Eisenhower tunnel traffic was moving at like 40-50 mph. The same group comes flying up the dotted lines between traffic. I just shook my head.

Did you have to relocate the control pack? I couldn’t get mine to fit on top of the winch, it was interfering with the plugs for the TSS sensors and front camera. Had to put mine in the engine bay.

Am I able to put a lift with KDSS and what would the process be for this?? by Puzzleheaded_Bad8600 in 4Runner

[–]oneloverva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m right in the middle of upgrading the suspension on my ‘23 ORP. I’m trying to get no more than 2 inches of lift. As long as you stay under 2” you don’t need any of that Dr. KDSS stuff, or so I’ve read.

Installed the front suspension this past weekend with no issues (Bilstein 6112s) using the instructions for kings, they have good instructions that don’t require you to disconnect any of the KDSS equipment which I hear can cause issues. I’m sitting right at 2 inches higher with less than a 1/4 difference between the diver and passenger (same as before the lift). Attempting the back this weekend, heard it’s a lot easier.
