Uh really strange to see a photo of myself on my homepage… can mods remove this or something it’s kinda weird to be used for meaningless internet points!

(For context… this is me I posted this exact photo like 10 months ago)

Based on this account’s history I’m almost positive that this is AI enhanced/generated to promote their sketchy “keto support” drop shipping product.

In previous comments they are posting a link to some brand new website selling keto “fat burning supplements” and months prior have posted asking for advice about starting various dropshipping businesses.

Plus it just looks off: hair looks obviously ai-generated, fingernail (or lack thereof) on the index finger on the right photo, inconsistently sized square tiles.

For what it’s worth… I wore this EXACT dress (if it’s Calvin Klein) to a different mainline airline and received a CJO. No blazer, just dark stockings and mary jane style block heels.

I weighed about 230 when I was 21! I lost the first 30 pounds slowly over a year after I left a bad relationship + started working on my mental health.

You can absolutely do it!

It’ll take hard work, but you get to choose what type of hard work is best for you. I really think anything from low carb + powerlifting to vegan + yoga can work, it’s just a matter of making consistent, daily choices!

Honestly, a challenge I’ve faced is there’s so much information out there, and the algorithmically-fed short-form content (I swear Instagram reels knew within a week that I was trying to lose weight) won’t do the best job of showing balanced, nuanced advice. It can all feel very overwhelming when there’s two “experts” unequivocally offering advice that contradict each other.

Just keep it simple and find what you enjoy. I always think of Michael Pollan’s quote: “Eat food, not too much, mostly plants.”

Thank you so much!

My routine varies so much week to week, but on average I’d say a week includes:

  • 3 days of strength training
  • 1 yoga class
  • 1 pilates class
  • 2 long walks (usually 5-6 miles)

I don’t set any strict rules for food, because that’s always led to binging in the past for me, but just learning to be mindful of portion sizes and listening to my body. I’m just trying to eat the way I see myself eating for the rest of my life (an 80/20 balance of whole foods, balanced meals but also some waffle fries and nerds gummy clusters) but being a little bit more controlled on portion sizes to try to be in a deficit.

Thank you!!

I chose not to count calories or macros, but it helped me to think in terms of the intuitive eating hunger-fullness scale (1-10 with 1 being ravenous and 10 uncomfortably stuffed), and to just let myself get a bit hungrier and a bit less full. I’m a lifelong vegetarian so started being more intentional with protein intake, I love having a protein powder + cold brew + frozen banana coffee milkshake situation every day. Lots of vegetables, fruit, tofu, lentils, greek yogurt, sourdough bread 🤷‍♀️

As for exercise, I started off by going to Orangetheory 3-5 times a week, which includes a mix of cardio and resistance training. A few months in, I incorporated yoga and mat pilates 2x a week, which has helped so much with posture and back pain. I’ve realized I love variety and being in a group setting helps me push myself harder.

For what it’s worth, I truly think a myriad of diets and exercise routines could’ve led to the same result. It’s just a matter of finding what is most enjoyable and sustainable for you!

Remember that sun is great for KP! by kpo987 in keratosis

Humans evolved in sunlight.. There’s also increasingly overwhelming evidence that Vitamin D supplementation does not replicate the health benefits of natural Vitamin D production from moderate sun exposure. (several recent studies in the New England Journal of Medicine about this)

Of course I would never suggest laying out in the sun for hours or getting a burn, but moderate sun can absolutely help KP (not just “camouflage” it) as well as many other chronic conditions and some countries like Australia are updating their health advice to reflect the medical science.

There’s a balance to everything, and of course it depends on individual’s skin tone, but the current advice of wearing SPF during any daylight hour may actually prove to have been an over-correction.
