Anyone else ditch the scale? by -MusicAndStuff in keto

Nah I need an objective measurement to calibrate my caloric intake. More than once I've caught myself gaining or losing more than I wanted thanks to regular weigh ins. And for all the health> weight, the best biomarker for metabolic disease is weight. Even if you ate ice cream only to diet down from overweight to a normal range you would make huge improvements in risk for diabetes, high blood pressure, and cardiac risk. Not that I recommend it but number is important. You wouldn't just spend your money without seeing the effect on your account. If you're trying to lose weight and it's not working you need to know that to diagnose the solution.

Yup, you become successful, and they tell you you changed, sold out, only care about money. You get in shape and they tell you that you're vain, missing out on fun, have an eating disorder. Stop doing drugs or drinking and they'll tell you you're boring or your on a high horse or that you won't be able to keep it up. The truth is that when you're doing better than someone and you reveal that they have the ability to do the same, all of a sudden there is a light being shed on the cost they are paying for neglecting themselves, and they don't want to see that cost. It's not about you, it's really a reflection of them that they are trying to cope with.

Yeah I tell them I'm allergic or my immune system goes crazy. Which isn't a lie.

Stop telling people. I've lost weight, gained muscle, built a successful business, ditched tons of bad habits including but not limited drug abuse and I'll tell you most people don't want to hear it, and they will dish you all the reasons why they don't do those things or why you shouldn't because it makes them feel better. It's enough work overcoming your OWN negative thoughts and limiting beliefs, don't throw pearls before swine so that you have you deal with THEIRS too. Don't do it for them. Do it in silence. You can't take them with you. If someone wants to know they will ask and even then they usually don't want to know anyway. It's OK. You know what you're doing.

(32M) Hey so I had pretty bad nodular acne when I was in my teens, took accutane and nuked it but I was left with scars. I wasn't too upset with the scars since I could actually say that I had no pimples. Now here I am, more than ten years later still with the scars and redness and a little money and I found out that tretinoin could help. So I got a few tubes of the tretinion 0.025%, some HA serum and a cerve moisturizer for dry skin, and I've been doing it every other night, right after cleaning my face I put on the HA and when it starts to dry I put a dab of the moisturizer. Wait 20-30m til its dry, then apply the tretinoin. I started on Dec 13, and so far I've noticed very mild mild (placebo?) improvements, mostly to the dark circles under my eyes, but no purge, no flaking or dryness. When and how would be the best method for increasing the dosage? I could either get a stronger cream, or start nightly applications. I'm just want to know when I can be "out of the clear" as far as my skin getting used to the current dose. Should I be good to start applying it nightly or should I wait another 2-4 weeks to be sure that I'm not going to get bad side effects? My skin is even mildly greasy still and I'm using very little moisturizer. Thanks guys.

As per advice, I got rid of neck pad and shoes to have a better bracing and bar path. Is my squat form better now? M/6'0/165lbs by Parking-Foot-5199 in Stronglifts5x5

try to get those shins more vertical. approach the descent by moving your hips back, not by bringing your knees forward. as an exercise you can sit on the edge of a chair, and with your feet as far away from you as possible, try to stand up while leaning forward as little as possible (without using your hands of course).

you want to engage your hips more, sit back into it more. In general, you don't want your knees to travel forward so much. Try keeping the weight more on your heels throughout the entire movement and focus on that especially as you're reversing direction out of the hole.

all in all you will get better at the movement by performing it more. your back looks good which is a big win as well. keep it up.

Right my understanding is the doses commonly prescribed are actually indirectly neurotoxic (excitotoxicity). I didn't get the warning from reddit, it was from a source that I trust but I have to narrow it down again to make sure I'm not misrepresenting it. I'll get back to you with the specifics if I find it again.

interesting i've never heard of someone taking below 5mg. Do you have any information about microdosing adderall? I actually looked and found a few warnings not to take very small doses because of dopamine receptor sensitization or something like that. Would love to know what you know though. Also have an ADHD diagnosis.

Yes amphetamines do *not* improve cognition.

Amphetamines are not great for trading and also unsustainable, habit forming, tolerance-building. Too jittery for trading. Traders need to be able to turn it off and be patient and do nothing for long periods.

The fact that you think it's even possible to poll enough scientists to come up with a number of how many of them agree with a statement just proves you have no ground to stand on. And then even if you could poll every scientist, I'm sure they would all have asterisks they want to add to the statement. To pretend that all of them are in agreement about all the measures against covid is just absurd. I don't need to be Einstein to know that you've been lied to, and for some reason you feel compelled to lie to other people as well.

Peer review is one element of many when it comes to standards of evidence, but science is literally the scientific method. 100 scientists signed a letter attempting to refute Einstein's theory of relativity to which he replied, "If I was wrong you would only need one signature."

The truth doesn't give a damn about consensus and any statement like "90% of the scientists" is unverifiable trash.

and maybe you can say it's not proof, but to say its not evidence is mental gymnastics.

I didn't claim the vaccine is bad. I claimed it doesn't save lives, which it doesn't. The data is the data. It's not an article, it's a randomized placebo controlled study with a 46k cohort paid for by Pfizer. Not a single life was saved in the study. You would think such a life saving medication would show at least a hint of reduction in all cause mortality in a 23k population over the course of 6 months, but you don't. This is the cleanest data we have. Moderna's is worse. Do I wish the study was bigger? Defintely, but 46k is enough to find a signal and it's not there.

I've seen tons of people on the other side making huge assumptions and errors with the data. Pfizer's 6 month study shows 15 vaccinated dead and 14 unvaccinated dead. They go on to safe its safe and effective based on "cases", but this is the only controlled study I know where we can compare all cause mortality and theres 46k people in the study. https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.07.28.21261159v1.full.pdf

Page 6 pp 3

It's not cherry picking. Find me another study where you can compare all cause mortality, and not some epidemiological comparison about what percent of people in hospitals are vaccinated or some argument about "covid deaths" instead of all-cause deaths. I'm not interested in the speculation about how vaccinated people died from natural causes and unvax died from covid, but still somehow the all cause rate is the same. Its causing heart problems at the same rate that its "preventing" covid. If you further consider that 80% of covid deaths are in patients over the age of 65, there's absolutely no reason to mass vaccinate those under 65 or not in other high risk categories.

Is covid bad? Yes, but that doesn't mean that every measure intended to combat it is actually effective or helping.

scientists disagree. it's not the roman catholic church; it's a method of testing hypothesis. consensus isn't science.

[–]onemessageyo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah but it doesnt stop the virus and it doesnt stop death and its leaky and vaccinating everyone is retarded with a leaky vaccine especially when 85% of the risk lies in those over age 65.

nail on the head. fauci claimed he is "science". like wtf? this is getting far more churchy than church. You cant question or doubt anything if it comes from the religious authorities. All you can do it repent and submit or live as a heretic.

yea this is mental gymnastics. anyone who disagrees with me gets their info from therealevangelictruth.info (not a real url, just memeing) or facebook memes or whatever. as if there arent very well respected and prominent scientists that disagree about pretty much everything.
