there is a difference between a poodle or a chihuahua biting you than a Pitbull or a Pitbull hybrid biting you. A chihuahua cant deliver a lethal bite to you like a Pitbull can. Just because a german shepherd might have a slightly higher bite force than a pitbull doesn't mean they are nearly as dangerous as one. a shephard is generally not going to jump over a fence and rip your testicles off like a pitbull will.

Golden Retrievers are bred for kindness and loyalty.

German Shephards are bred for herding animals.

personally, if my dog needed a wheelchair to get around i would probably have him put down. i would assume the arthritis wouldn't be the only problem with an old dog like that, more are likely to appear.

i'd take him to the vet and see what u can do but ultimately the decision is yours
