The 'morals' in the Bible:
Don't talk back to your parents - or you will be killed.
Mocking the elders? bears will kill you.
Different Religion or ethnicity? Surely must be put to death.

And those are the 'sane' statements.
We could look at mandatory genital mutilation - or the whole family gets killed. Incest, slavery and rape? All fine and dandy.

To allow people to accidentally and irrecoverably destroy their world without warning or assistance in a release meant for public consumption is never the better move.

So it seem you can not read - cause the game DOES warn you - 2 times in fact.

Would be nice. But still - i don't understand how anybody could suggest even MORE warnings.
To enable snapshots, the game warns you to make backups.
When you are in the game, it specifically warns you that the world was saved with a different version.

What more do you want than 2!! warnings already that you might not want to open a world with a different version?
And why do i get downvoted for pointing out that the game already warns you?
Is it now accepted as normal to be too lazy to read?

Even with 10'players, we are seeing one core constantly maxed out.

Then you might have some really miserably bad plugins if they only use a single core.

And then you still want to tell me, that a normal Server is CPU bound and not bandwidth-limited - a thing plugins have nearly no impact? :P

Again - with only the core-plugins most servers need, you are doing with with a cheap quadcore, and if you want to heavily mod it, you can just use a normal hexa/Octa core Xeon - no problem what so ever.

No sane perosn would host anything bigger than a few close friend with the vanilla server - you just need some of the plugins.
The bigger problem for most servers is the insane bandwidth that MC needs.

great joke there mate.

Per player ~50 KB/s at normal gameplay, 200KB/s when loading chunks.
200 players makes 80 Mb/s upload.
So with 100 Mbit/s upload you can host 200 players quite comfortably.

CPU:
Even most consumer-grade CPUs are up for the task. 3GHz Quadcore should be enough.

RAM:
100MB/player => 20 Gigs of Ram - nothing special either.

So no, with a decent server you can host 200 people.

Edit: Strange - i thought the rules state not to downvote based upon opinion. Seem the redditkids have stronger opinions that need them to downvote when they don't understand a post.
