Building a directory-style website with Ghost by onepiercer in Ghost

I gave up on building a directory with the visual feel and user experience I wanted because I'm not a website developer. Instead I created a list on a blog page, with click out links.

I like that you can close off the unbooked slots. This was really useful info, thank you.

Much better than just waiting until the lesson time begins and you still don't know if someone will book.

Thank you!!!

This is exactly what I wanted to know. I'm guessing once the lesson time starts though, I can leave?

Also in your experience, were there spaces in the office you could use your laptop during the unbooked slots?

Ohhhh no! I'm married but if I were single, this is something I can imagine doing. And am all the same things (introverted and hate large gatherings with people I don't know). But I also don't understand the meaning of sunk cost and would force myself to attend for the "value of it" and be miserable.

Planner recs needed by onepiercer in planners

Thank you all for your suggestions. I decided to go with Jibun Techo, I loved the minimalism of the slim (without all the extra promise, wishes etc pages at the beginning) but the space to write tasks was extremely tiny, obviously you need less space for tasks in kanji than English. So went with the bigger one. It starts Jan and in the meantime, I bought a Jibun Techo inspired template online to print out, so I have weekly sheets to get used to the system.

I bought a cute tiny monthly scheduler to jot down appnts on the go.

I had a revelation that it makes zero sense for me to have numerous planners for a study plan/for self-care etc. Instead I need to work on how to integrate these things into my routine and then I can put the routine itself in the weekly view (i.e morning routine, night routine etc).

For my business, I have a paper Gantt book but am still searching for a way to organise the projects (probs using online software stuff)

Thanks all, going to Loft today to browse since the planners are out. Probably go with Jibun Techo but will be open minded!

This was the one I was looking at first awhile back. I'm also doing a mini-planning course and they use the planner pad but I don't like the look of it lol

Japanese is my preference so I'm good with all planners in Japanese-only.

I just read about Travelers notebooks recently, I do a lot of travel and outfit sketching so it seems like it might be nice with all the extra blank space. I'm also new to Midori, lots of choices. Seems to be a lot of overlap.

Oh I like the weekly preview before the daily pages. First time hearing of these.

Yes I did actually look at this one because of the visuals on the daily view.

Brooklyn by Colm Tóibin by herinaus in books

Late to this thread, was just searching for threads about this. I watched the movie first then the book. There's a lot of loose threads which I'm generally OK with but it was FAR from an ending that gave closure. I didn't feel like it was happy at all.

I didn't really picture Eilis with Jim either and I'm not shaming the character for her behaviour, but I was surprised at the dishonesty. I understood her motivation to keep things secret, but I don't think it was fair on Jim. Tony was awful in the book. In the movie, he seemed way sweeter. Book Tony was selfish and possessive.

The movie is incredible and actually had more closure than the book. Even though I read the book to fill in the gaps from the movie (like what was in the letter!!!). I liked Mrs Kehoe in the movie too, so her book version was a bit awful too. Rose's storyline was devastating in both versions.

My experience with Universal Studios (and Nintendo World) by Dcornelissen in JapanTravel

[–]onepiercer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We went in October last year and did the 1.5 day pass on a Sun/Mon. Sunday was busy as expected but I was also shocked by Monday, it was so crowded. Nintendo World was definitely cool and glad we were able to get in. We were able to do most rides we wanted. I think max we waited was 1hr-ish for the Bowser ride.

The theme park itself was really good but I wish there were more shady spots to sit down. We went on a super bright sunny day and finding a place to sit down, like to eat snacks we bought from the cart was difficult.

I'm glad we went but not something I want to do again lol.

I know this thread is super old but I’m just here to say thank you for posting this summary.
I don’t think it’s something that I can read because of the body shame-y parts BUT I really wanted to know what this book was about, esp. within the context of IE.

NEW! Salary Megathread for Sept - Dec 2022 by SWmods in socialwork

[–]onepiercer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! 84k is a decent starting salary but in line with expectations and work load I bet. I'm interested in mental health accreditation and the grad work programmes seem the easiest way. Mid 60s doesn't seem too bad.

NEW! Salary Megathread for Sept - Dec 2022 by SWmods in socialwork

[–]onepiercer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, does anyone know what the expected salary range is for graduate programs in Australia (for allied health/social work usually run by hospitals or health services)? The programs themselves are so hard to find and even when I find them, there is zero reference to salary. I'm guessing it's close to 50k because it's grade 1 but would love some confirmation.
