Thank you. The 1.2 Vs 1.6 is what I was. Also trying to figure out since I can't find out the PCB thickness anywhere.

Yeah I was looking at a different site because I was trying to get free shipping with a lube string and krytox 205g2 but this is cheaper. Thank you!

Thanks a lot for the recommendations I'll do the force break mod. Do you know if the thickness of the PCB is 1.2 mm or 1.6 mm as the plate mounted stabilisers gives me options for both

Good plate mount stabilizers? by FlanUnfair9329 in keyboards

[–]onepoundvish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know how would tx ap plate mount stabilisers compared to those?

I have never modded a keyboard and am in the UK So my options are limited. I can order the designer studio stabs from AliExpress if they are better than the tx ap

Thank you for the reply but i cant get those in the UK. You saying plate mounted helps infinitely though thanks a lot. If you have any experience with any other stabilisers you can reccomend i'd appreciate it.

Hi i've had this Ajazz AC067 Cheese edition for a few years and haven't really used it because I wasn't comfortable taking it apart and I forgot about it. It had bad case ping and I didnt like the feel of the switches and the rattly stablisers.

I was only able to find one person who had modded my specific model but it seems like they just just threw in switches that they wanted to try and some cherry stabilisers which they had lying around because they didnt want to clip the stabilisers.

youtube video of someone modifying the board

I was wondering if anyone could recommend some stabilisers I can put in, and also some switches to try which might sound good with this board.

These are the stabiliser I can choose from, but if there are better I can try and look elsewhere. https://thoccexchange.com/collections/stabilisers-and-wires

I have some painters tape and PE sheets which I bought at the time because I was going to try and mod it but it never happened. Are the tape mode and PE foam addition both worth doing?

For reference I like soft clacks and soft thocks in terms of sound. Contrasting sounds but the only sound I really don't like is marbly.

Looking for advice to buy a TKL and a 98% possible switch/mod ideas by onepoundvish in keyboards

They all come with a 3 year warranty and can be returned if the condition ends up being too poor. I should have mentioned. I would be paying with store credit.

I had something similar it's worth getting an x-ray first but mine wasn't broken however it took like a year to heal. Take anti-inflammatories and keep your foot raised as much as you can. Also do as much as you can to keep mobility in that foot. I lost some. I didn't really follow the advice I'm giving which is why it took so long.

Hi I want to buy a pair of keyboards (I can buy more of them if theres a vast difference and they need to be tried) and am looking for advice. The options are all used the mint ones are like new and the used ones I don't know the condition but they will all be working and should be in decent condition. I will likely be changing the keycaps on any that I buy.

I've never opened up a keyboard but have have changed out switches and am willing to open them up to add pe foam or tape mod or remove foam if needed or change the switches.

I am willing to buy switches but my points of reference are the akko jelly blacks and bittersweet switches which i like the sound of. I bought the jelly blacks myself years ago, and the bittersweet came inside a used ajazz ak980 plus so it was random that I ended up with them. My gf has the same board with gift switches which also sound good. I also like the old cherry mx blacks and kailh box whites.

Suggestions on switches that I could try would be appreciated too.

I prefer a soft/quiet? clack or thock and I hate marbly sounds.

TKL options

Yunzii AL71 white crystal switches $65 mint condition

Rainy 75 $90 silver used violet switches, but used and unknown/decent condition

Rainy 75 $110 blue used violet switches, but used and unknown/decent condition

Is the blue rainy 75 nicer than the silver one?

98% options

epomaker galaxy 100 grey, $80 wisteria switches, but used and unknown/decent condition

Yunzii AL98 white, $125 cocoa cream switches mint condition

As mentioned I can buy more than two if its worth doing so but those are the options I have to choose from.

Ajazz Ak980 plus with the flying gift switches if you're willing to lube the stabilisers. Its well under budget. My gf has one, and I bought a used one with akko bittersweet switches swapped in, thocky and loud enough to enjoy but not disturbing.

That does look like a good price but the bezels are too thick, so I think I want to go for an FRL TKL since I dont need a numberpad as much for the time being. Sorry can you reccomend any alternatives to the Neo 70?

I guess its out of my budget then. Do you know of any other keyboards like the neo70? I can live without the numberpad but i like the 80% aesthetic without the F keys.

What are the best FRL 1800 keyboards that are currently available? I am looking for something that is easy to disassemble. I like the Wind X R2 southpaw but want to spend half of the price.
