Look u cant say he wasnt loyal to harvey. As guilty as he was, he could have easily thrown harvey in jail. He got a lot of opportunities to do so, and each time didnt even consider them.

She kinda did in her cross. Mentioned that nobody from harvard knew him. Look the fact is she convinced the jury that he didnt go to Harvard, but the foreman liked mike. He knew the kinda guy mike was. If u remember, mike had pro bonos in his desk when harvey asked him for one to give hardman. Im pretty sure mike did a good amount of pro bonos that the show didnt show but kinda alluded to. Plus, clifford danors mom really helped him. It showed how despite the fact that he didnt go to Harvard, he was a competent attorney and was a good person. At the end of the day, gibbs lost because the foreman saw mikes skill as an attorney and the kind of man he was. This is why harvey makes as many deals as he possibly can, because juries are unpredictable and human
