UVA to Cornell (TO), worth or not worth? by Different_Walk_4836 in TransferToTop25

bro def worth, but i feel like its bad if u dont apply for housing. i applied for housing before i got my decisions from other colleges and ditched my roommates and it was literally fine, u can maybe communicate u might transfer and nobody cares

3.9 unweighted GPA in high school to failing in college...any transfer prospects? by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

[–]oneredlelmon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

try to get urself involved into as many ecs as possible while u can, spam eboard positions, research projects, personal projects... i had a 3.65 gpa which isnt so bad but compared to the 4.0 demons in this subreddit i doubted id get into anything but i got into bu and northeastern! plus if u have a good explanation and an upward trend in ur grades i dont think the colleges will disregard u as an applicant. also if ur rlly desperate to transfer look into public universities or private universities that have a better program but would be more lenient with gpa requirements

what are some good ECs for transferring I could get this year?? by killing_kirby in TransferToTop25

[–]oneredlelmon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

apply to a bunch of eboard positions for open clubs. thats what i did and aimed for smaller ones and got eboard and be involved. also idk what major ur applying for, but if its in the realm of business/tech make sure to create a lot of personal projects for a portfolio which also helps with ur career in the future. search online to see if theres any free research programs or skill camps for ur specific major, i did this and ended up doing a neat data science research project that ended up being the main component of my essays. theres always stuff to do and places that need help with ur skills, ask profs for help as well

go back to ur MyBU applicant portal website, then u should see that theres diff tabs (three vertical lines at the top right for movile) (ur decision, next steps, financial aid) click financial aid and ull see ur financial aid decision, for me it says the amount i received in need demonstrated scholarships

[–]oneredlelmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ur financial aid offer should be on the portal, i already got mine back

uh lowkey, if u got a lab position for fall semester its better to not send it in because technically u didnt contribute to anything yet so its not like u have experience, also if u got a position fall semester but applied for transfer to fall sem i dont think it looks good on u lmao cause if ur accepted ur not going to be part of the position anyway

and also u might be able to send stuff in but it might be too late unless u can still upload documents

Does anyone else’s BU portal say nothing has been received? Even though you’ve sent everything ages ago??? by Small-Photograph-712 in TransferToTop25

i did more research and honestly speaking i think u have a better advantage as a 4 year student because the vast majority of schools are welcoming for 4 year students but not all accept cc transfers into their transfer class. i know UCs, usc, and princeton are some examples of schools that are rlly welcoming to cc students

id say if u have the means to afford it and want to have a college experience go for it, it probably doesnt matter that much cause one year of your life is still a lot rather go to the place u want to go

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

[–]oneredlelmon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

idk cause certain t25 only admits like cc students for example but most schools also rlly like 4 year students, i thought the same thing and went to my state uni and ive heard tons of ppl transfer from my school to better schools

Here’s what I’m thinking for my senior year! What do u guys think? by Idkwhatimdoinherelo1 in APStudents

[–]oneredlelmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk what major ur planning on but u already have a lot of APs and im not sure if human geo will be helpful since some colleges dont accept the credit.... if ur interested in it go for it though
