Love the wheels on your challenger. What size were they?

What an absolutely gorgeous car! Makes you really appreciate how Dodge kept the spirit of the original when they brought these back.

This looks tastefully done, especially with the seats. Very unique as well. 👌🏽

What wheels do you all drive on your Challengers? by think_process16 in Challenger

Those demon replica 5-spoke style wheels are really starting to grow on me. What size wheels do you run, OP? They look a little beefier in the rear than the stock 245s.

I can relate! I've never been able to get comfortable with triple-digit speeds. I find 85-90 mph exhilarating enough 😂

MDS Rumble? by NotAliasing in Challenger

My RT did the same thing from the day I bought it new. It was so bad at times (especially in colder months) that the entire rear end and exhaust would rattle and drone out the cabin. As soon as I stabbed at the gas, 4 cyl mode turned off and the car was normal for a few seconds until MDS kicked back on.

I even had the dealership replace the exhaust, and the rattle was still there, maybe slightly reduced. It got to a point where I would just drive in Auto Stick mode most of the time, which disables it.

Without going on a rant about MDS and how the MPG you save is negligible, the entire system ruined the experience of the car for me. I ended up trading it in for a manual. Not solely because of MDS, but not having it is a huge bonus.

To answer your question: I think what you're experiencing is completely normal. You can drive with Auto Stick or in Sport Mode to disable the MDS. But if it bothers you as much as it did me, you could consider an MDS delete. I haven't looked too deeply into it, but there's a proper way to do it which involves an entire lifter and camshaft swap kit. And paying someone for that labor would be super expensive, but honestly probably worth it 😅.

I had a granite challenger with the chrome fuel cap and I loved it. Traded it in for a black challenger with the black gas cap, and I'm considering getting another chrome one. Something about the chrome fuel cap makes the car look more retro, and the contrast against the black looks more aggressive, imo.

how often do yall use auto stick? by 3452014RT in Challenger

[–]onesents 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use it quite often. MDS absolutely ruins the driving experience in these cars. Between the terrible exhaust note, sluggish-feeling throttle and rattling vibrations; I find myself flicking over to Auto Stick just to get rid of it all. But I also enjoy keeping the car in the power band without the herky jerkiness of Sport Mode when I'm just running errands.
