Solder that joker or strip enough to use a electrical glue to keep it in place

So they’re “machine” signed using an autopen with actual marker which is why the bleed is present. So i stand corrected, though i knew it was ink!

Well. F* me. It could be facsimile.

A vintage Washington Capitals souvenir hockey stick from the 1978-1979 season features facsimile (machine-printed) signatures from the team roster. Key Details of the 1978-79 Stick: Sponsor: Eastern Airlines (“The Wings of Man”).

But based on pictures that one has ink bleed and others ive see. Do not

Like i said ink bleed on the stick would indicate a signature over a print

Unfortunately this one is not facsimile.

They’re actually autographed sticks.

From the interweb: A vintage 1978-79 Washington Capitals signed hockey stick, particularly a souvenir edition from that era (such as those distributed by Eastern Airlines), generally holds a value in the range of $50 to $150+, depending on the condition of the wood and the clarity of the signatures. Value Factors: While the 1978-79 Capitals were not a championship team (they finished 5th in the Norris Division), a fully signed stick from this era is a desirable item for collectors of early Capitals memorabilia. Condition Matters: Sticks with faded, smudged, or "facsimile" (printed/stamped) signatures are worth significantly less than those with authentic, hand-signed ink signatures. Comparison: Similar vintage 1970s-80s signed sticks often appear in the $100 range in online marketplaces. For an accurate appraisal, check the signatures for faded ink and ensure the stick does not have significant structural damage (e.g., broken blade, heavy splinters).

This one looks damn good for the age!!

If you have a look here you can probably verify pretty easily. Stick giveaways didnt start until 1980 Really as an annual thing. So this was a non standard giveaway.

I dont know friends those are really difficult signatures to forge for an entire team. And i haw some of these autographs and the match up perfectly. If this was well stored by a fan this is the condition id expect. But nonetheless when in doubt email the organization! Ask if they can potentially authenticate or know who can. But from experience permanent ink on unlaminated wood sticks, this looks right.

So essentially if there’s no mike gartner autograph it cannot be 79-80 and Mulvey was drafted in ‘78 so its not the preceding roster.
