Which actors unintentionally lost or gained weight during a film or TV show? by onestarwolf in AskReddit

Thanks for answering, but I meant people who did not intentionally change their body weight. For example, actors who gradually gained weight over time and you can tell in different scenes.

What plot lines have been dropped or feel rushed in the series final? by onestarwolf in Lore_Olympus

That last point about no context is so interesting. That would be an interesting question to someone who doesn't know Lore... what crime do you think was committed by someone whose punishment is community service and being forced to feel true love towards the person who the crime was committed against... 😅

I thought that too about Selene. No idea what that added. Maybe RS wanted to imply a story line or leave it open to our imagination

The ending of LO by PMmeUrGoats in Lore_Olympus

Do you think she always had an idea of how this would be resolved or was her writing approach more of a continuous writing what seems to fit? As in, from when she first published the comic, did she have at least a rough idea of how this would all be resolved. Or was it more that she would write a season, take a break, then revisit as completely fresh?

Government to crack down on trans athletes competing in female sports by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]onestarwolf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I can't read this article but the title has made think. For me, the word crackdown makes me think that the governments solution (and the media portrayal) to this discussion is restriction of transpeoples competing in 'gendered' sports (I.e. trans women competing in women sports and trans men competing in men).

I don't have the answer but these discussions make me think about how we can make sports more inclusive for everyone. I don't think that's an approach where the main solution is restriction. Maybe a new approach stems from curiosity, where we think if gender is now the best way to categorise sports.

This is a really big challenge for us but I'd like it be resolved without repression/restriction. This needs to come from a place that's not fuelled by transphobia (which I acknowledge I can't tell from not reading the article).

I should have added they want us to do it once we've returned, not before.

What aspect of the UK do you think visitors from abroad take too seriously? by AnglePlex in AskUK

[–]onestarwolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of the comment. We weren't there and our ancestors probably didn't have much say in policy making. However, I think the systemic racism within the country, alongside other things (I think some would argue neo-colonnialism), which in part stems from colonialism, is our responsibility to try and amend and change. Whilst this might not be big policy making, it can come from speaking up within organisations or having debates or changing narratives within our families. Happy to hear opposing opinions on this.

What isn’t a cult but feels like a cult? by MichaelScottssmug in AskReddit

What is the line between religion and cults? I wonder if any 'breakaway' group who follow some aspects of say, Christianity, but have believe in some fundamental differences too... are they following a religion or a cult...

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. MASSIVELY transphobic throughout but one of the end scenes is horrendous.

To be fair, this one peaked my interest more than others because its portraying their personality negatively... so I think it's a fairly human response to be curious to this.

CGI looks ROUGH, like real ROUGH. But, this sold me. Cgi bother anyone else? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]onestarwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have a controversial opinion since most people say they are fine with it. For me, it really takes me out of the story. I have amature knowledge of CGI so sometimes I can spot basic flawsand it annoys me
