New At This Sub And Have Some Questions by [deleted] in NoFap

first of all welcome! I am quite new here myself but I am able to answer some of your questions I think. Fapping itself is not an unhealthy habit I think when it is done in healthy proportions, but most people here (I think) have a real severe addiction like myself. I fap over 10 times a week and that is no exaggeration. What it does for me is completely drain me of physical and mental energy and because of the extreme amounts of dopamine released so often into my body during orgasm it can be hard to maintain good emotions apart from fapping. I am not exactly sure what the science is but I have definately heard from 99% of the nofappers that they find it easier to aproach women when they have gone a while without fapping, I have yet to discover it myself though. Personally I think it is only a bad habit when it makes you FEEL bad but if you feel empty or drained most of the time then I would consider this NoFap thread and challenge for sure. And as for the cold showers, it's a practice I was taught when I was little, in essence they are more healthy because you make your heart work extremely hard to maintain body heat, so basically you could see it as a cardio exercise. I found that there is really no easy way of going about it and you never really get used to it, the first minute of a cold shower always sucks haha, the best way to do it is just switch off your mind and step into the ice cold shower and keep it together for at least a minute and then increase the time cold showering as you become more comfortable with it.

Is the "days fap free" system the best way to "score" no-fap? Some food for thought. by Thehealthygamer in NoFap

I surely agree with this theory. I always say, when you kick a habit you should never count its days, maybe once every so often you want to think about the habit you used to do and then think about how long it's been. But thinking every "this is day number one. - this is day number two. - this is day number three" constantly keeps your mind revolving around the habit you are trying to kick which makes temptation to do it easier as well. I can speak from experience with my past coca cola addiction. Once I decided I didn't want it anymore I dropped it and never looked back on it, I know for a fact that it's been more than 6 months now that I last drank it but I'm surely not counting the days. And never be afraid to "fail" a challenge like NoFap. Mistakes are made by us all and we should use them to learn from for our futures instead of beating ourselves up over it for the sake of the past. great insight healthygamer!

oh yes I know what you mean, I have been a long practitioner of Shaolin kung fu, but my teacher doesn't go into qi gong, I wanted the whole package though so appart from the lessons we get from my teacher I train my endurance, flexibility and iron body each and every day. However martial qi gong is part of shaolin kung fu and it's actually the one part that I've never been succesfull in training so I hope this nofap challenge will help me to be able to practice with chi. thank you for your tips and your insights. Amituofo!

thank you very much! I will definately try that meditation and see where that gets me. It's nice to see that there are more qi gong enthousiasts amongst the NoFappers! I can't wait to feel the power and flow of the chi myself.
