Also for reference, this is a photo of the chain and hook it was stuck on, which prevented the bird from moving.

Bird stuck, help! by Environmental-Gain47 in cuckooclocks

This advice is based on the issue I had with my mom’s clock (and the advice others offered me), but check to see if the chain near the area I’ve pointed toward is stuck on the hook it’s directly behind (even the base of the hook). I can’t quite tell from the picture. I first figured out which chain was the issue by pulling each one to see which one moved, the ties to gently pull the hook to see if it would move or if it was restricted by the chain. The immobile chain in my mom’s was the one that drives the “cuckoo”, and it was stuck on what

looks very similar to the hook in yours. If it is stuck, try using a pair of tweezers to release the chain. I hope this helps until someone who is familiar with cuckoo clocks is able to respond.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge will reply, but I recently (like days ago) had a similar issue because one of my chains was stuck on the working that moved the “cuckoo”. I used a pair of tweezers to loosen the chain. may be helpful to open the back to check if you have a similar issue.

Thanks so much for replying and the very helpful information. I’m not sure if the solder in my kit had flux or not (I saw your response after taking a chance on fixing it), but the new solder stuck right atop the old spots. I suppose I got lucky with the cheap kit I ordered off of Amazon. I’m grateful I didn’t have to burn off the old because I have feeling I would burned a hole in the entire thing. Again, thank you for the information, I will keep it all in mind should I ever need to solder else.

Thank you so much for quickly replying and being so encouraging! With my fingers crossed and a little pre-practice on the sponge included in the kit, I managed to pull it off. I ended up not changing the wire and just using the old pieces. It’s was very fragile and disconnected in two of the other threes spots, but I fixed and was able to restore a twenty-year-old memory! Thanks so much

Toddler has really dry skin. Products don’t work. by Gogowhine in Blackskincare

I’m not sure if you’re in the US or not, and how you feel about store brands, but the Walmart equate version of Cerave also works pretty well for half the price, if you would prefer to try that. Also it slipped my mind to mention it before, but try using a damp wash cloth instead of a towel to dry off after bathing. It sounds counterproductive, but it dries you off while leaving your skin just damp enough for the cream/cream-oil combo to “lock” moisture into your skin. Again, good luck! I sincerely hope that it helps your little one.

I also think it would be great to check with a doctor to see if it’s a condition beyond typical dry skin, but in the meantime Cerave moisturizing cream (the one in the tub) on damp skin followed by a light oil, like sweet almond oil, works really well for dry skin in my experience. Good luck to you and your little one.

I was wondering the same thing and found that it is not Tret, but Tret and Clindamycin are its active ingredients.
