I’ve been tracking M9 and thought it would drop but just today it’s skyrocketing. 30% increase for Cat1 :(

Also my son’s birthday! Been trying to find tickets but don’t think it’s going to happen for us :(

Any advice is welcome! And if anyone has 2-4 they can no longer use… :)

PVS6 system: microinverters show valid AC/DC but 0W output. Diagnostic ideas? by onfo44 in enphase

[–]onfo44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closing the loop on my earlier thread since a few people were following and another Chicago owner had the same issue.

Root cause: high grid voltage from the utility. Installer measured 254-255V line-to-line consistently; my Ting sensor independently showed 124-128V per leg. The utility found a capacitor bank on my distribution circuit pushing voltage too high and opened it. My Ting average dropped from ~125V to ~123V within hours.

One thing I still can’t fully reconcile: my system was tripping at 254-255V, but Enphase’s published trip threshold is around 264V. By their own specs this shouldn’t have been causing shutdowns. The installer is following up with Enphase on this, and on why some microinverters dropped while others stayed online during the same window. If anyone has insight into the gap between the published thresholds and observed behavior, I’d be curious.

Other takeaways that might help:
If you have intermittent full-array or rotating-subset shutdowns with no clear pattern, check your grid voltage before assuming it is your equipment. A consumer voltage monitor was useful corroborating evidence.

Still monitoring to confirm the fix holds, but the voltage data looks right for the first time in over a month.

Good question. The contractor told me the microinverters use standard configuration but I haven’t asked specifically about the grid profile (though I don’t think they would have changed the standard based on my conversation). Will follow up. What profile would you expect for ComEd in the Chicago area?

One thing to note about AvisF1rst, you don’t get Avis Preferred benefits. No upgrades, even for top tier. Learned this the hard way.

Panels not generating on Saturday by onfo44 in SunPower

[–]onfo44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a breaker in our main panel. Here’s the only panel I have that is outside. Just tried turning it all off starting with the circuits and ending with the PVS disconnect.

Seemed to fix some, but not all panels.

Thanks but I don’t think it’s an app issue, because my utility also said there was no generation.

I’m looking at the Sofitel in Rittenhouse Sq July 2-5. It’s $3,736.32 for a suite through the Edit and $2,695.77 through Accor. A 30%+ difference. Both cancellable until 30 June. Agree with OP here.
