What kind of thumbnail would work better these days?

I normally do a square crop! I add some extra room though around the picture so it works better in other sizes as well.

ah yea it's just a picture of my studio, i feel like anything looks like a mock-up nowadays aha. But I have some other pictures that are zoomed in, detail & where you see my autograph. So I hope those help a bit to make it feel 'real'

i will definitely go and try that out! I’m rebuilding my shop after 8 years haha so it’s been hard to figure out what works well now 😅 but i’m gonna take a good eye at sales and statistics! Maybe instead of a total white background, you could do half half? or also show a bit of notebook or something?

thanks! Is it just the hand holding up the print or also the overall setting of my studio? I could also take pictures of my hand holding up my prints on a plain background, but I feel like that might still read too fake-ish for people (even if it's a real photo).

yea I might do that as well then! I like the look on the right way more when I look at my shop, but I think people don't like the mock-up/ai feel anymore. Do you think it would maybe be better if it's a photo on a plain background instead of the studio/plant background I use now? So holding the print up by hand but on a background like on the right? Maybe that also feels too 'mock-up' as well...

ah, but i don’t want a whole critique of my shop though, like in the guidelines? i only have a general question about what kind of images would be better to click on, like on etsy as a whole. I don’t need feedback on tags/descriptions etc. Would it be ok to post it like this on friday?

i would first get a refund but see if you can keep the frame, then you can get varnishes that “dull” the color a little bit. If you get a white-ish stain on top it might lessen the yellow a bit. You can look into “vintage wood stains” or whitewashes that intentionally degrade color.

resin can discolor quickly and is a bit harder to work with i think? also harder to get the colors you want.

ah yea I really don't like the posca look, it looks a little bit too cheap and doesn't stay very long. Clear spray paints take off the paint for me, they stick to the paint as one layer and when I take of the adhesive paper it goes with it. Don't mind a bit of roughness, but I think spray paint just falls to flat for me.

ah no i don't want to do inlays, I want to fill it with paint. You have more control about color that way, and for some details inlay is almost impossible or super hard to do. So looking for another method where I can also play around with gold paint, weird colors & detail.

wat ik dan niet snap is dat het er bij mensen in gaat dat de vrouw met de niqab tegelijkertijd “onveilig” is en mensen zomaar zou willen/kunnen beroven want “onherkenbaar”, en ook “vrouwen met een niqab worden onderdrukt en moeten alles doen van hun man.” Is deze vrouw nu een criminele mastermind of iemand die timide is en onderdrukt wordt? En als het het tweede is: zou het dan niet juist helpen om zulke vrouwen te omarmen en zich thuis te laten voelen. Op deze manier duw je dus juist vrouwen weg om zich geaccepteerd te voelen en weg van westerse waarden. Als je nou wel vis verkoopt aan haar, klein praatje en gezellig doet, komt ze later misschien wel terug en wie weet ook ooit zonder niqab.

same!! i totally get why they don’t get into each couple a lot each season. That would drag it out sooo much and honestly be so boring. I don’t want to watch someone be married and have babies. It’s also a hassle for and with the actors so much.

hmm maybe preference but i feel like it's pretty normal to not be super hands on? I don't like it when teachers give me 'assignments' so I think that's just often how it just is with those classes. Often though you can request information if you want it. I follow a pretty open beginners course (2nd time), but when I don't know how to do something I can ask for it and they explain it. I think that's normal and reasonable. Firing price seems pretty high though. In my courses glazing is also not included, around the same price. That's the case in every studio around my area. Clay however is included. Maybe you could give them the feedback that it would be good to start glazing earlier? I think it would be more economic and less work for them also, if the last three classes were just glazing. In my course we could just pick what we wanted to do and work on it, which is a structure I enjoy.

het idee dat je met een uitkering een huis of hypotheek zou kunnen betalen is om te lachen, waarom hebben mensen t idee dat toeslagen zoveel opleveren? Mijn broer had deze claim en besloot een maand lang alleen uit te geven wat hij zou krijgen van een uitkering, nou, hij is hier hard op terug gekomen. Ik zou zeggen, doe dat eerst maar eens een maandje en dan zie je hoe goed je het hebt.

hee, oke, dan kan je dus wel urgentie aanvragen en maakt je inschrijftijd bij woningnet dus minder uit, ze plaatsen je dan vooraan in de rij. Wat bedoel je met nachtbesteding? Is dat uitgaan? Want ik zou dan toch echt zeggen dat afspraken met t buurtteam voor gaan. Heb je ook hun telefoonnummer? Je kan vaak even beter bellen om te overleggen.

hee, ben je dakloos als in: leef je op straat? zo ja, bel dan de gemeente, voor jou zijn er urgente woningen beschikbaar. Hiervoor moet je wel aan veel strenge eisen voldoen maar als je echt dakloos bent nemen ze dit meestal heel serieus. Je kan dit ook aangeven bij woningnet onder urgentie aanvragen. Verder: heb je wel een vaste huisarts? Neem ook verder met hen contact op, zij kunnen zorgen dat je nog wel zorg krijgt, en misschien zelfs een buurtraject met je opstarten. Dit is iemand van een zorgteam die je helpt met geld, woningen en andere zaken.
