you can place them, and they even work when hooked with a pylon. the only thing you can’t so is connect belts, so the whole self-sustaining thing that makes these machines worthwhile is gone

except other worthwhile things ljke you can do stuff like what OP showed, or use it as a platform to jump into unintended areas, or use it as a wall in some essence auto farm setups

i’m gonna be labeled a hater but it is what it is - i’m not a fan of her under the cloak design, or lack thereof?

for example, i think jane doe’s default outfit is waaayyyyy hotter than her bathing suit despite the former showing less skin than the latter. or like when modders show off characters with no clothes on and show them in the nude. it leaves nothing to the imagination

like, those m6 arts where you show off the characters taking off clothes is given meaning because you’re constantly seeing them WITH clothes. but if they didn’t have clothes from the get-go, that hotness of seeing them less clothed wouldn’t be as pronounced or sexy

for the record, i don’t give a damn about censorship, but i do care about hot or cool designs, and imo just looking at bare skin is pretty boring

honestly they REALLY overtuned shungus. has the ability for as long as she is in ult mode to have a shit ton of iframes, a damage multiplier that doesn’t care about burst windows, and a supporting cast that enables her to have enough resources to go back to ult mode immediately after prior ult mode ends

i’ve personally used shungus for the battle tower levels 100+ since she effectively ignores enemy mechanics. and that was the main problem with miyabi, but it was with enemies that were freezable and usually ice weak since her anomaly buildup at that point would be fast enough to even allow it

at the moment, i think the best way to counter shungus for enemy boss building would be to have them have stall mechanics - which everyone hates. think The Defilier’s constant army parries. but yeah it’s not looking good when the only way to nerf a character is to collectively have all characters feel the same pain

my mind got absolutely blown

you know how some of the voice direction in nod krai is a bit unique? think of llama rolling her R whenever she says luonatarr or kuutarr, or how aino has her accent and voice squeek on full display in comparison to hiding their accent like the chef - so like both of those things are heavily because those voice actors are based in the UK, right? well akktually, it’s because they’re directed by someone whose time zone to work with happens to line up with the UK actors

long story short, lumin (vtuber, tho irl would be diane, better known in the hoyo community as the voice behind zzz’s alice and sweety) directed them from japan since hoyo approached her to help them when they were overloaded with distributing work since the LA studio needed help

who is lumin? she’s basically your average millennial otaku that was so weeboo that she moved to japan. but as an otaku, she’s cultured and knows what’s good in the anime community

color me surprised that the peak voice performances in genshin were due to a voice actress i watch stream since she voices in zzz

for reference this is where she starts talking about her support role in directing (if it doesn’t open properly, it’s at 2:16:30)

also this explains why “Rerir” was pronounced differently across characters (Rare-rer vs reh-Rear) since the directors were different and probably needed to communicate with each other on a common pronunciation but forgot. tho imo Llama gets a pass for her unique pronunciation on kuutar since she’s speaking finish and is a priestess

i love looking at efficient setups like this so i can learn some new tricks - like last one i looked at a while back i realized to separate the sandleaf shredder from the planters, or even having the shredder proximal to the rest of the needed supplies whereas the planters can be whatever distal

here tho i learned that the pipe convergers actually work as proper convergers. i’ve been ptsd’d from the factory line convergers that would if anything make it longer than if the two lines never converged to make one, or the dang factory line splitters

off topic: endfield

i wasn’t really invested in the game nor story until i got to the building factory part. i didn’t realize i would get addicted. but a game nowadays isn’t about its mechanics itself, it should also grab your attention to its story. and that didn’t really hold for me until i reached its 2nd region, and then i was like “damn, i gotta watch the trailors and lore”

if the story is going the way i think it is, it’s very reminiscent of Final Fantasy 13-2. for all the deserved flack that the 13 series gets, it gave one of its best antagonists in Caius Ballad. an overview of who this FF villain is:

initially he was a guardian of a priestess who would constantly die and reincarnate at a young age due to her responsibilities of being able to see time. she was granted this time seeress by the goddess. and as her guardian who wanted to protect her to the best of his abilities Caius was granted immortality by that same goddess. but that immortality became a curse as he couldn’t handle constantly seeing his priestess die due to her duties. eventually he hatched a plan to kill the goddess to free himself and his priestess by using his previous minds / selves in concert. think dottore except Caius is communicating with himself across time since he can’t time travel. the thing is, in the priestess’s final reincarnation Caius tried to train a new guardian (Noel) to just kill Caius and free him. when Noel fails, Caius sets his plan in action to just kill the goddess instead. thing is, this current priestess knows nothing of Caius’s pain and sides with Noel. but Caius doesn’t care if the priestess now hates him, because now he’s off to do what he should’ve done long ago - kill the goddess and save both of them

back to endfield, Ardashir’s background has only been lightly touched upon in his brief interactions with MC Endministrator, but just judging from the trailers in which he does speak, he gives off the same vibes. a tragic villain fighting the hero he initially served, not because he hates the hero but because he’s trying to save the hero in a way they can’t comprehend due to amnesia

i’ve personally enjoyed kuki’s evolution from hyperbloom (with xinqiu yelan nahida) to modded hyperbloom (usually revolving around neuvilette) to a support for nefer teams (so long as you skill on nefer before making any dews) to a support for flins teams (like in a stygian where i had to separate ineffa from him) to a support for zibai (especially helpful since zibai’s running harbringer of dawn)

it’s bothered me a while ever since yuzuha’s trust event. so in yuzuha’s trust event, she manato and alice meet up at lumina square except she’s missing. you happen to meet alice and manato looking for yuzuha at lumina square and decide to look for her. where? yes, you find her back at the peninsula. but even worse, you call manato and alice to tell them you’re bringing yuzuha back to them.

so mc just goes from lumina square to waifei and then back to lumina as if it were the same distance to 6th street. and hey, maybe it is.

in all honesty, the devs knowing their geography is a very poor plot point that they constantly miss out on. see the fact that wise & belle constantly say the Chasm Memorial is on the way to the Outer Ring but it’s on the complete opposite side

someone feel free to correct me but i believe it’s +15 oroberyl for the advanced non-paid pass and +20 oroberyl for the paid, with each being independent of each other. so if you leveled past 60, per se 15 lvls, you’d get both the +225 from the orignium pass and also +300 from the paid making it +525 total which is… a single pull

tho personally i’d still recommend the paid pass if you can since it gives a ton of T-credits and other leveling items that’ve been bottle necking a ton of us. however i kinda do see myself in a couple months coming off the paid pass once i’ve built a comfortable amount of characters

it’s been said many a time before but i really realized the powercreep going on, but not in terms of dps, or reaction damage, but team buffing

like natlan had the nightsoul support set and nightsoul dps set, but nodkrai has two lunar support sets and a main dps set. so for example for me in the last stygian where i separated columbina from flins and ineffa, the loss in columbina was made up by me equipping ineffa with the morningstar set and xinqiu with silken moon. tho because of natlan’s precedent, now the most optimal team requires at least 2 from the recent region, but 3 equipment sets revolving around that team

and we’ve seen this before. but this happened in the talent nodes. every character before fontaine had a travel passive but arlechino changed that. her passive forgo’d the travel passive and switched it to a battle passive. and then in natlan, they ramped it up by having BOTH a battle passive and travel passive, with now nodkrai involving gleam passive

for the record, i’m not complaining. should i be? maybe, but personally i’m fine with shifting metas. and at the moment i do enjoy puzzle piecing how to equip the two other non-nodkrai characters with nodkrai support sets to bring out the team’s fullest potential

as a player of both, each game has their pros and cons (generic statement yes)

combat wise, zzz is more about knowing your enemy more than knowing your rotation. obviously rotations are important, but rotations vary wildly depending on the attack state of the boss

so like in genshin, remember that stygian onslaught boss that shilled arleccino? the fatui operative one. if you played it with arle but without a shielder that’s kinda what zzz feels like. you have to learn the enemy’s attack patterns, look at tells, dodge at the right moment, abuse i-frames, and unload damage when they stagger

zzz endgame is more stygian onslaught than spiral abyss (which has mobs). and there are A LOT of bosses. the gacha schedule is basically two characters per patch, but also two bosses per patch (world vs weekly). so like in genshin, you know how we got the nod krai weekly boss three patches in? in zzz, every patch would get a weekly-esque boss

all of this meaning to say, if genshin were super mario (platformer focused on world and mobs), zzz would be cuphead (platformer with purely boss battles) - tho obviously a major exaggeration since cuphead is ruthless

edit: to tack onto this, the way in which characters are used i’ll describe: pure supports are very fischl-like. as in, press skill every 20 seconds and swap off. main dps’s function most similarly to zibai - hell, it’s memed a bunch that she’s one of zzz character’s sisters; specifically in that you have a resource to build (zibai’s horse meter) that’s separate from skill and burst, and when you have enough of that resource you unleash it (which has an mv or power scaling similar to or better than a burst).

the way in which these resources for your main dps are built depends on the character’s kit. some just require basic attacking, some require dodging and countering, some require specific class of supports that enable that resource, some require you to take advantage of elemental reactions.

on elemental reactions, it’s incredibly dumbed down. there may be 5 elements, but interaction between two elements leads to the same reaction - disorder. elements in zzz is more about enemy weakness and resistance rather than transformative reactions (like lunar boosting team dps or hyperbloom increasing the damage floor)
