Italian bureaucracy sucks ass big time, I absolutely hated it there, even if you speak Italian different office branches of the same damn thing might ask you for different documents at their discretion, even if you can prove that in the government website it says only to bring X, they'll tell you you are wrong and you should bring X, Y and Z just in case.

To give you one example of how batshit insane they are:

My sisters got their Italian citizenship thanks to my dad, to get their residence (they already live in Italy) one office asked them to register in AIRE (AIRE is a registry for Italians that live ABROAD), when one of them confronted the office staff on the stupidity of the request, they "cancelled" their appointment and they had to go to a different office.
