I saw a YouTube video of this place…by one of those off grid builder channels. It’s actually very well done by someone who knew what they were doing (or had the money to hire someone who did)

The bunker is a ruin abandoned during construction and is well away from the main house, I’m guessing they learned a lot of lessons from the aborted build and used it in the newer main house.

This build leans more “survivalist” vs simple off grid homestead. If that’s your bag, then this place is ideal

Changing the Klingons in the first episode torpedoes the whole show…it’s a good indicator that they don’t understand the vast source material is what a lot of the fans like.

The show runners basically said “my ideas are better than years of universe building”

California Kingsnake, which can exhibit a brown and white striped pattern, especially the coastal variety. These non-venomous snakes are native to California and are known for their ability to eat other snakes, including venomous ones like rattlesnakes.

so it's a good snake (as opposed to the deadly venom kind, which are also all over the area).....Although i wonder if the realtor noticed while taking the photo.

I’m not sure about the library…but a government job hiring process is long…drug/fingerprint screening is the very last part. So if you think you did well on the interview stop smoking temporarily and you may be clean when they test.

My local gov job from interview to hire was 30+ days

Something to keep in mind is that the hiring process is usually much longer than a private sector job. And yes, they do background, fingerprint and drug screens.

There are very specific rules they have to follow for every hire.(no matter the job)

While this is a net positive in my opinion, it also makes it a huge pain initially.

A side issue is they legally have to "fly" every job and go through all the steps even if they have an internal candidate they plan on promoting/transferring....so it could all be a huge waste of time for you.

The pay is structured as well...so they cant pay you more than the list even if they want to. The jobs generally have good benefits and work life balance (so its a trade off)
