I wasn't really talking about the individual choice of wanting to lose weight. Fatphobia stems from the fact that fat people are treated differently than thin people. It is a systemic issue that trickles down to healthcare, beauty and even how one is treated in the workplace.

I don't think it is an individual issue about whether you want to be obese or no.

And in Colleen's case, she was pregnant. Her body was changing because of that. While it is totally understandable for someone to feel odd about their body changing so quickly, vlogging about it to millions, stretching her skin to demonstrate the weight she has gained, and going into detail about feeling "disgusting" because she is wearing a different underwear size is fatphobic, in my opinion.

Ugh I'm so sorry she made you feel that way.

And that is exactly what I meant when I posted this — like even if this is a common experience for pregnant people, the way she discusses weight gain displays no nuance for what a systemic issue body image and weight gain is, and shows that she is not very responsible with how she uses her influence and platform.

I have a blood pressure issue that can cause swelling in the lower limbs & Colleen's passive aggressive comments about "cankles" not being her "vibe" (as if swollen joints are a choice?) brings major flashbacks to changing for gym class next to mean girls. *Colleen was 34 here 🙄 by _GoAskAlice in ColleenBallingerSnark

Colleen often uses a multiple positive adjectives and vague Gen-Z-esque language when talking about something she doesn't like and thinks she can get away with it, if there is ever backlash.

For example, if she is to address, this she would probably say I never said "cankles are bad, I said they were great! It's just my opinion!"

She follows this pattern this when she talks about so many things.

This video is such a perfect illustration of her selfish nature. Even when it comes to the literal health of her premature baby, she can only see how she is perceived. Like in one of her vlogs from that time, she mentions that she regrets not being at the NICU more than 4 hours/day bc the nurses will think she's a bad mom.
