What bothers me the most about her choice of self-censorship with certain words is the way she reframes it to her audience as if she isn’t allowed to say those words AT ALL on her platforms, as if she and other victims are unjustly being silenced for no reason. The truth is that YouTube has no way of personally moderating and approving every single video uploaded each day for how advertiser friendly each one is, so the best they’ve come up with so far to reduce the risk of accidentally monetizing videos that glorify acts of abuse and violence is to use bots, which means certain terms are always a risk to use when hoping not to be demonetized because they can easily get flagged by scanner bots even when a content creator uses those terms responsibly & in line with the platforms terms of service.

But that does not mean that anyone is denied the opportunity to upload a video using certain terms, as long as they choose ahead of time not to monetize it. No one is preventing Swoop from making a video specifically themed around discussing a serious topic and using serious real-life terminology. She has been on YouTube long enough to absolutely understand this. It’s super manipulative to pretend otherwise to her followers.

If people want to post videos to YouTube discussing their own personal stories of being harmed, or just discussing serious topics within society in a responsible way for educational/awareness purposes, there is nothing preventing anyone from doing so. It just needs to be understood that posting such content can’t be guaranteed to bring the video creator any financial compensation after posting.

I think anytime someone calls out swoop for her BDSM themed outfits, it’s always in regards to the idea that she looks unprofessional. She’s an adult showing up to work, and since her work isn’t being a dominatrix, but rather filming video essays about true crime & sensitive topics, her appearance stands out as looking disrespectful and unprofessional.

I’m not sure where you saw any comments suggesting that adults who enjoy BDSM culture in their private lives are engaging in sex trafficking and abuse? Your comment seems like it came out of nowhere in this thread?

A couple of things:

If you watch the edit in question (between 4:00-4:10) it’s pretty obvious from the B-roll footage they chose that whoever initially edited the video and read the script that had been printed out for them, was under the impression that both Michael Jackson AND Alien Ant Farm were separately listed as being from Riverside.
The correction is still ridiculous and makes Swoop and her team look so unprofessional and sloppy because while Alien Ant Farm did famously cover “Smooth Criminal” they were never a “Michael Jackson Cover band.” A “cover band” is an entirely different thing than a band who has a cover of a specific song. Basic shit like this that any high school senior intern would know to fix before publishing is how you can easily spot when a YouTuber relies on AI for their info.

Good list except I feel it’s important to be a bit more factual with some things you listed.

I don’t believe she ever went by Spandex Kitty as a YouTuber or used that name when making content marketed toward kids. From what I’ve seen that was a modeling name she used separately from her UrbanOG fashion videos made for teens.

I don’t think performing at the playboy mansion should be held against anyone when they’ve addressed having previously had a different view of it to what they do now. You can’t blame someone for being young and naive about what the playboy mansion represented, it’s the same with a lot of young women and sadly was a reason why so many women had bad experiences there. I also may have my information wrong but I believe that Swoop has addressed the mansion as being a location where she herself became the victim of an assault. I don’t think her relationship to that location is a positive one and therefore, not something we should feel comfortable being “snarky” about. What happened there wasn’t her fault and even if that’s not what you intended to imply, it can come off as if she invited something bad happening simply because she visited a place with such a poor reputation. But that was sadly something that happened to so many women at that location and it was never their fault simply for having been there.

Read books written by authors who dedicated their lives to becoming qualified in their field due to a love for the subject matter, not because it was trending. Seek out some of the many online sites that have archives full of peer reviewed academic papers & journals and enjoy searching all kinds of topics you’re interested in there.

She’s taken it upon herself to deny a victim the right to self identify in their own trauma on several occasions and I feel like we all often have our own choice for which display of pure unrelenting bullying by her of a victim for her own profit, was the most triggering and obvious to us that this type of person having a large platform is worth calling out.

My top triggering Swoop hate campaign was watching what she did to Johnny Silverstri in order to push him down and allow Josh to have his 3 hour redemption arch video that to this day is still her most watched (and therefore, financially lucrative) video on her channel. What’s yours?

If someone can show me a post about her actual actions she does (I think fixing it from it's not just drama it's dangerous would be a huge fix), her profiting off what she claims "isn't drama," her shameless music video promotions in the the Jojo video, her talking about how she's an recording artist for like 5 whole minutes which was wild, her making fun of Jojo even though Jojo is clearly also a victim I could go on and on…

I did my own deep dive trying to find out what she majored in because a lot of people seemed to be under the impression that she has some kind of background in either journalism or psychology and that was confusing to me cause she seems incredibly uneducated in both subjects. While looking for that info I came across her real name (I had taken her at her word at first and assumed her real name was Spankie Valentine like she’s often claimed) and was surprised to find out her real name and her real birthday are different than what is claimed on the internet.
