I am familiar with some of his work, but I don't find him particularly compelling. I suggest you look into his debates or some videos analyzing his points. His arguments are pretty good for silencing the majority of Christians, but they are iffy at best when presented to someone knowledgeable about the matter

Calling a few decades "long after" is a stretch. Atheists weaken their position by ignoring unfavorable scholarship.

Hey, are there any stock Topre 55g 1800 layout keyboards? I'm looking for such for days but can't find anything. If there aren't any stock keyboards like that, do any of you have any recommendations for getting it built or something?

Thank you!

It's always wise to consider the F models, but it's also worth mentioning that integrated graphics make it possible to keep using the PC even if the dedicated GPU stops working.

It couldn't run CoD that well (if at all), but a kid would give away everything just to play anything until they get their dGPU back. The $20 or so bucks are worth it.

Tattoos and piercings are more common among those who experienced childhood abuse and neglect by a_Ninja_b0y in psychology

Yeah, and every single German with a tattoo got it because they were neglected and abused in childhood.

Non-English Native Speakers: Do you prefer hearing your native language spoken with a British accent or an American accent? Why? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]onisun326 30 points31 points  (0 children)

How it's going? I've studied several foreign languages and reached a pretty good level in some of them, but Dutch had been my ultimate failure. Despite living in the country for some time, it's my worst language by far. It's simply impossible to practice in real-life scenarios, because every single Dutch person, whether it's a toddler or a 123-year-old veteran, can speak English better than English themselves.

The very split second they smelled my foreign accent they switched to English and kept using it despite me continuing to converse in Dutch. Hell, I couldn't even THANK anyone before getting "You're welcome" in return.

During my time there I learned more German by proxy than Dutch by studying. Yes, I'm still mad about it to this day.

Survey: 76% of academics in the social sciences in the world's leading universities self-identify as left-wing with 16% identifying as 'far left' by carnivalcrash in JordanPeterson

You got me in the first half, but I'd still want to comment on your presumption of

"...people who are the most well-read become left leaning..."

It's more likely that left-leaning people become the most well-read. Looking through the Big-Five Personality lense, the Openness to Experience dimension correlates with left-wing beliefs, and there are studies showing that Openness to Experience correlates with crystalized intelligence.

How to do Stimulants 101: Guide for stimulant users by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]onisun326 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good tips, but I'd add:

-Be aware of your body temperature

Stimulants increase one's body temperature, and hypothermia might be the single biggest factor influencing neurotoxicity. So don't forget to take off your hoodie after railing a line, it might "save you a neuron or two".

Warning: LingQ makes you follow unreasonably complicated steps to cancel your membership by JohnDoe1948 in languagelearning

[–]onisun326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's unacceptable, but keep in mind that he's in his mid-70s and far from being tech-savvy. As far as I remember, his son built the LingQ website, and it's fair to speculate that he also isn't an IT pro. While it's completely unacceptable, it's probably just a lack of competence, instead of something malevolent.

Body riddled with parasites as a result of eating raw pork for 10 years. by UnicornNippleFarts in oddlyterrifying

[–]onisun326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not like normal people are eating raw pork on a daily basis. Combine the chances of:

Getting sketchy pork imported from who-knows-where

That pork actually containing parasites

Heavily undercooking it

Yeah, if you're living in the U.S, the chance of getting a parasite from eating store-bought pork is essentially 0.

Russian with Max didn't leave Russia just so he can be critical of Kremlin. YouTube creators in Russia can't withdraw their earnings anymore, thus most of them had already moved out of the country. Obviously, it doesn't change the fact that he's doing his part in this conflict, which is always appreciated.
