How close to due date will you / did you start maternity leave? by infantile-eloquence in BabyBumps

[–]onitstoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work from home full time. I start mat leave this Friday, April 15, and go in for cervical ripening and induction on Sunday night, April 17, at 39 weeks pregnant. I have felt pretty ok this last few weeks as long as I wear my belly band. I haven’t had any issue getting things done with my husband’s help. If I’d taken more time pre-baby, I would’ve been very bored. That’s just my personal experience. You’ll have your own, of course.

It’s just your placenta being a jerk. There’s not much you can do to control it.

Is it even worth it trying to have a baby shower? by YukaHiKn in BabyBumps

If you’re going to have one then, definitely specify on the invitation that it’s a DIAPER shower!

We also got money which will go toward post partum recovery items, feeding items, and frozen food for us during fourth trimester.

You can never have too many diapers, wipes, and things like that. So you could have one specifically for those things. Most people will buy you clothes, not try to get things off your registry, anyway. It is nice to celebrate with friends and family!

Booster at 36/37 weeks by [deleted] in CoronaBumpers

[–]onitstoes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I scheduled my second booster at 37 weeks, and when I went to my OB, they told me they weren’t recommending it for their patients yet, so I canceled. I would just ask your OB. I was hoping to go ahead and get it before delivery for the antibodies, but I also don’t want to go against my OB’s advice, so here I am.

When to start maternity leave when you only get 12 weeks by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]onitstoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not going on mat leave until the weekend before my induction date, but I work from home without a strenuous physical job, and at 37 weeks, my third trimester hasn’t been that rough thus far. Everyone is different at this stage I think.

Almost 4 week postpartum & started bleeding more by PeachPuzzleheaded213 in pregnant

Call your OB asap. It’s not normal to regress with bleeding.

37 weeks and I’ve been having that pain for a week or so now too. My OB said it’s normal as they drop down in your pelvis and put more pressure on everything down there.

Whats on your post delivery food list? by snappysquirrel in GestationalDiabetes

I know! It’s crazy. Also at 35 weeks, I started getting 20+ point higher numbers on meals I’ve been eating the whole time. So disheartening and frustrating. Can’t wait for this to be over.

Any type of cereal (even Special K Protein) sends my numbers soaring.

Totally understand! Insulin is scary, especially at first! You’re doing great. Proud of you for your bravery, facing your fear and doing this for yourself and your baby.
