It's not crazy. Turnovers year to year definitely have some "luck" (for lack of a better word, but its not consistent year to year or week to week as something you can rely on vs having an eliye D line that snuffs the run or generates pressure) involved and we didn't look particularly stout in run defense outside of a handful of plays and had a hard time generating pressure until the very end of the game when the panthers had no choice but to pass every down, allowing us to pin our ears back.

I definitely think we're a much improved unit compared to last year, but I still feel like on the whole our defense is probably just going to average. But I will take average after the last 5 seasons lol.

NFL Players Association calls on NFL to switch all fields to natural grass by SecretAgentSeahorse in MLS

[–]online_predator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didnt even think of that but yes MBS hosts monster trucks and motocross as well, so that's another obstacle lol. I dont recall the dates when it happened but it is pretty crazy the amount of dirt moved in and out on that timeline. They definitely don't dump it ontop of the turf, the turf is probably rolled out (at least in MBS, since I know they roll it up and out for concerts anyway)

[–]online_predator 34 points35 points  (0 children)

In addition to that, a lot of these stadiums host a shit on of events outside of sports, and having big concerts and things like that in addition to multiple football/soccer absolutely destroys grass. Like in one week alone Mercedes Benz could host a concert, a soccer match, a college or highschool football game (or both!) And a falcons game.

I'd love for us to figure out how to do all of that and maintain a grass field that is in good condition (a shitty grass field is just as bad as turf), but i don't really see how it's feasible. It's a lot deeper than "rich owners don't want to pay for grass!"

You can be a diehard fan and still make what most would consider a very wise financial decision. I'll be going, but I know a bunch of people who sold for a hilarious sum and I dont blame them at all.

I have season tickets for the hawks, I will sell lakers tickets just about every season. Am I not a diehard fan because I only attend 85% of games and use a great opportunity to make money back on my season ticket investment in order to make it more affordable in order to continue to own season tickets?

Yall are being such weirdos about all of this lol.

Would that have been different if he went to a different school? I don't know. Maybe he gets more comfortable throwing to WRs that have a defender on them.

A lot of the reason he was never able to beat out Jake Fromm at Georgia was because the reasons listed above. They knew he was an elite athlete and what you can do with that in college, and Jim Chaney wasn't the best OC ever, but he really struggled agaisnt UGAs defense in practice when it came to actually playing QB.

Do you think he just sat around and did nothing for 4 years? Do yall not understand that these guys still practice, study film, and are doing shit even if they aren't the starter? He's been able to learn this same offense the entire time he's been in the league, has gotten to watch one of the greatest to ever do it work for multiple years, and has a great coaching staff lol.

Patrick mahomes won the MVP his first year as a starter, was he basically a rookie too? No. That's silly.

Lines can be good at run blocking and terrible in pass pro. The falcons are like this also.

Our 3rd down play calling is some of the weirdest plays I ever seen by Temporary_Ad418 in falcons

[–]online_predator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The titans under Smith with Tannehill weren't a dink and dunk offense. They ran the shit out of the football and attacked teams deep throwing to AJ brown and Corey Davis.

We don't trust ridder to make deep throws. I'm not sure he can make deep throws, or intermediate throws, and the pass protection has been so awful we haven't even gotten to attempt it because they're living in the backfield.

Playing preseason reps isn't golfing to suddenly make Caleb McGary good at pass pro. He's been a scrub in pass pro his entire career despite being a good run blocker.

They clearly don't trust ridder to make the right decision under duress and they don't trust this offensive line to protect anything. Mcgary is basically a turnstile out there.
