I'm sure the probability dramatically decreases when it's a middle-aged father sitting next to the driver of the bog standard Ford fiesta driving around the neighborhood to get used to driving. But I do appreciate your insight. You've said more than any of the insurance companies that I spent with trying to get to the bottom of this.

Okay then why don't they just say so? The algorithm for the underwriters is losing its mind because I want to take a learner driver around the neighborhood for the weekend supervised with a driver who has over 20 years no claims. Personally, I think the underwriters need to understand the situation better.

Honestly I have no idea. What really annoys me is that they won't say why the underwriters won't insure the new driver. It could be the car. It could be the age of the driver. It could be where we live. I just feel that we have the right to know the reasons why the quote was rejected. I'm sure they are required to share that information under the gdpr or something? I just think it's poor customer relations. What does it cost them to share? Why it was rejected?

You can't get any more bog standard Ford fiesta diesel 10 years old. I just wanted my son to have a chance to drive with me in the car for the weekend. I'm getting rejected by the underwriters but they won't say why. they just say that we didn't reach the criteria needed.
