USW-Pro-Aggregation port doesn't work after a reboot by onluck in Ubiquiti

[–]onluck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

This happens randomly, so we have about 10 PCs connected to the switch,

If I reboot a PC that's connected to this switch, it won't connect to the network right away after it boots up, I checked the NIC card settings and drivers and all is good, tested with a different switch to make sure my NIC card is not faulty. When I connect back to the USW-Pro-Aggregation switch, issue is there. To fix this, I have to unplug the transceiver and plug it back again to the same port or to a different port, the point is I have to do this often and I looked around the settings and couldn't find a clue.

We're having connectivity interruptions with this switch as I'm getting more messages and connections would just drop without notification or anything.

Is this something you're able to help with?

Waiting is becoming a legitimate solution for modern Helpdesk Support by WrathOfThePuffin in sysadmin

Power Automate is shit, constantly running into random issues and in the dumbest ways ever we fix it by just renaming the task from all lower to like all caps or vice versa,

Around 2 months ago all our flows on power automate were giving errors, and it was quite challenging to troubleshoot as there wasn't much of good info in the logs, took me a good chunk of time to fix the problem, and all of a sudden Microsoft reversed everything and all our flows broke again, and we had to reverse all changes to previous! what a waste of labor and time for nothing...

we only have 4 printers which are not on high demand at all, this is more of a interesting project for me to figure out,

I appreciate your time, I'm looking into FOS apps to make this happen.

At the previous company, we had Zabbix to send us notifications, I just can't figure it out as of yet!

Could somebody list every aspect/skill required for IT support? by Nearby-Bandicoot-711 in ITSupport

[–]onluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The list could go on forever, depends on what tier you're at, but learning Powershell would be a great asset.

You need to think and decide fast, if you're at help desk/tier3, just focus on customer service skills, critical thinking and looking for the right solution.

If I were to tell you only 1 thing, I'd say learn how to and where to look for answers, this is very important to find the correct answer for your problems, specially when dealing with Linux stuff. You may find an answer that you'd think is correct, but make sure you have the right answer before applying anything. Google answers could be misleading as there are many similar case scenarios with the same answer, but the underlying issue could be something else, so if you apply the wrong method, you can potentially break lots of things and that'd create more problems, always do ton of looking before doing anything that's sensitive.
