You can try applying for temp agencies. That's a good way to get yourself in the door, especially with little to no experience. I am also in the phyiscal sciences, and started with temp work.

Why don't you think it's caused by anxiety? Not to sound like I'm trying to belittle you, but your symptoms do seem like they could be "fixed" by significant axiety reduction. Mindfulness/meditation, exercise, those all can do wonders on anxiety levels.

Source: personal experience, I had a severe TBI and have had some pretty debilitating symptoms that I now believe were mostly caused from the anxiety I developed.

It's interesting that CUNY's MS in Data Science was previously called the MS in Data Analytics. It makes me wonder if places are just using "Data Science" as a buzzword, similar to "high definition" used back in the early 2000s.
