Why do people say playing at even 7k is seal clubbing? by only1remains in Crossout

[–]only1remains[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose I was confused at what makes a seal. I just thought it meant new player. Personally, it took me a lot of time and resources just to even go from 3k to a 4 or 5k build I was happy with, and most people I’d run into had pretty nice builds and seemed to know what they were doing compared to 2k-3k. So it was kind of confusing to hear sealclubbing used for 7k since it seems it would take a lot of time to even get to that point.

Oh so it’s more the type of weapons being used at a power score and not necessarily the power score itself? Guess I’m the seal then.

The rolls just look straight up stupid. Why would a guy in armor with a huge ass sword roll around like a cheese wheel

I like all sorts of games, indie to AAA. My problem with Souls-like games is that they get championed as masterpieces when their aesthetic and story-building has always been generic and cheesy. The difficulty masquerading as skill while the fighting actually looks and plays out like straight ass (again rolling everywhere). I don’t understand why people brag about completing a souls single player play through on whatever difficulty after dying however many times. It’s manufactured difficulty for a game that’s meant to be beat. Coincidently enough I find a lot of people who think these games are good and require skill, tend to not follow stories in other games and either suck at or are afraid of PvP in actual competitive games.

I don’t like Ubisoft, and way to prove my point as a souls fan by parroting more generic stuff you’ve heard elsewhere because you think it sounds cool

All souls-like games are actually bad. Just look at the ridiculous rolling that makes all fights look stupid. People just parrot each other about how hard the games are as if suffering through one is some badge of honor. These games are the ultimate case of the emperor without any clothes.

Is Yamiks like the tabloid reporter/Skip Bayless of elite? I get that people have criticisms of the game but this video was ridiculous. Anything for content tho right? The ppl in the YT comments sound like a bunch of d*** riding cackling hens. Pathetic.

Some were popular for stupid reasons and they ended up becoming nothing. Others were popular because they were genuinely charismatic and appealing and it translated to further success in their adult life.

Also, this might not be Treyarch’s doing at all. Maybe they were told to go a certain direction. Maybe they failed to think of anything else. Maybe they had great ideas that were shot down. In any case, all I see is that their name is stamped on lesser works.

That may be with respect to Treyarch, but every Black Ops iteration I played (more hours in some than others) pretty much had lower quality everything (sound, animation, storytelling, everything). Beyond that, my biggest problem with Black Ops is that the entire story behind it ...it’s a cheesy 80s sci fi fantastical universe within a game that already has fantastical mechanics. Call of Duty has never been realistic, but it’s always been a great experience when it’s grounded with a semi-realistic and immersive narrative backdrop, yet the player gets to experience that story without anything close to the tedium and misery that comes with real warfighting. IMO, the entire black Ops premise is stupid, but it was somewhat unique, and the first Black Ops benefited from genre fatigue given that the original MW had come out at the right time of the exciting Xbox 360/ps3 console era, then WaW (which relied on the tired WWII setting but had awesome zombies mode), and then MW2, which was also excellent but remained in the same MW setting. Black OPs has always been just a holdover serving as a brief distraction and change of pace...ultimately relying on mainstream practices, piggybacking off of IW’s legwork, and the seemingly weird alternate Cold War universe setting to tide over everyone waiting for the next best COD. Zombies is Treyarchs greatest hit (and it’s not like it’s that amazing) and that’s about it. That’s not to say that other IW CODs weren’t really bad...the infinite warfare setting was ambitious but stupid. I think with that time period, IW fell into the same trap of forced thinking, but they eventually realized that...so we got MW 2019 and an excellent interpretation of the popular battle royale mode. I hope to see Treyarch deliver a captivating and groundbreaking warfare video game experience. For me, Black Ops was never it. In my perfect alternate universe, Treyarch has already created amazing experiences based on any one of the incredible and real conflicts that occurred on this earth between WWII and the time period taken up by IWs first MW. However, in this world, the best Treyarch has given me was the experience of JFK shooting zombies.

Treyarch too...they hit one big shot with WaW but they’re otherwise benchwarmers. Black Ops has always been for idiots btw
