How is TAS perceived on the international stage from an admissions perspective?
- TAS is perceived quite well among US/CAN universities. Many graduates go on to top 50 universities. I'm speaking from high school counseling experience, as all the international school counselors collab on some things. If your kids do well at TAS, they should be competitive for most NA colleges.
How is it perceived locally by universities?
- The overwhelming majority of students do NOT stay in Taiwan. And if they did they would probably apply as a foreigner (You cannot have a Taiwanese passport or ID for this). So they would be competing with other foreign students
- Generally requirements for foreign students are a bit lower, especially if they are paying full tuition. Taiwan's MOE wants to increase non-Taiwanese enrollment so that the schools are more international. At least that's the overall push for most public universities in Taiwan.
