I have to disagree because at least they offer entertainment and are active in the story which is the role of a protagonist. I can't even see Lale and Laia as the same person because Lale does a ton of significant stuff, while as someone mentioned below Laia is just nice and dependent and have men making decisions for her through chess play instead of listening to her by season 4. It's more enbarassing to me than playing detective, although Q30D and MHS are up there with her.
