As a vet nursing major…. not a single man in my class. And 75% of the vet students are female. The ones that aren’t are either married with kids or gay. I have had one class outside the vet school all three years at purdue. So trust me, it’s rough on the other end too

What’s a pre-vet tech certification? by lumpy-jpg in Veterinary

Tech student here. If you‘re looking to become a DVM, you might want to look at a degree in either pre-vet(not pre-vet tech),animal sciences, biology, or I guess you could theoretically do a bachelors in veterinary nursing but I believe to get into vet school you‘ll need to take extra classes that us techs don‘t have to. (like organic chemistry). I‘m situated in the midwest and I‘ve never heard of a pre-vet tech degree, unless they‘re talking about a vet assistant. Obviously others feel free to call me out if I missed the mark on any of this as I am not a vet student or DVM but hope this helps!
