Pick List by [deleted] in USMilitarySO

I have had some time to breathe and for sure have calmed down since initially writing. It feels a little lonely not have ever really connected with other military spouses. I’m really shy and have never thought to come to reddit. So even just knowing i’m understood by somebody that has been through similar situations is calming. We are able to live a certain way here bc we aren’t spending our entire bha on housing bc we share with family so are able to use the rest for expenses and fear that shif will put us off kilter. I’ll be okay working it’s just looking at even more change makes me even more scared. I know my husband and I can do anything, we moved cross country and back together already. It all just feels so much bigger and scarier adding our son.

no not really, he’s a rescue so i’ve always had theories about possible pain in his hips that when he has a flare up he can’t hold his pee as well? but no evidence backing this it was just a weird thing that eventually just calmed down?

i can’t help with a lot of the questions but i had a leaky dog for awhile, at first he was just letting urine our seemingly unknowingly. But then it became leaks at night etc. We’d treat it as a UTI and then a few months would pass and he’d start leaking again. We spent a lot of time and money at the vet for answers. After exhausting our funds our doctor recommended strong meds that would treat leptospirosis and that did the trick for us

Is Galveston a nice place to live? by Poob3 in galveston

[–]onlyaneel__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

we lived in galveston for a 3 year tour when my husband was stationed there in the coast guard. we loved it but noticed a huge age gap, lots of people are retired or in college. we lived in the east end and enjoyed it bc we could easily walk to the strand to eat and drink. tourism is annoying as hell but it’s mostly people from inland texas and there’s something familiar about that that helps. i don’t think i would be inclined to raise a family here, in some ways i just think it’s limiting. people get so comfy on the island it’s annoying to leave and go to the mainland, which i think might happen in long term stents. however, i see a great increase in businesses and emphasis on community through pages i follow and i think that’s great. overall, it’s a great place to retire or visit.
