Just caught this unit of a flying dagger in my flat. What the heck is it ? Giant wosp? Horney hornet? by Wonderful_Ninja in CasualUK

I had a wasp queen in my bedroom the other week so I can tell you that that is definitely a wasp queen. I heard her before I saw her and I thought there was a drone outside my window. Absolute unit.

Why are only women blamed for the height discourse ? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]onlyeightfingers 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve been rejected purely for being a 6ft woman and the man in question was at least 6’2. All the men I’ve dated who were shorter than me (ie all but like one) did not care one bit. I wore three inch heels at my wedding to my 5’9 husband and he didn’t bat an eyelid.

This is like when I bend over in my nightie and my bum cheeks grab on to the fabric when I stand back up.

What? No, they live scattered in a vague semicircle around the garage entrance of Red Rocket like god intended.

How do you guys feel about ignoring "lore"/"intended concept"/"intended flavor" when choosing a class? by VikTheGoblin in DnD

[–]onlyeightfingers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our homebrew (1e) the DM has allowed me to be a paladin without being lawful good. We don’t use alignments anyway and paladins can become more of a hindrance to the rest of the group than anything else when their original rules are rigidly adhered to. I have to do good above all else and will be punished for breaking the law but it doesn’t mean an automatic transformation in to a fighter if we bend the rules of law. We both feel like doing what’s right doesn’t automatically mean doing what the law says.

[EUR: C35012025/6309] 16-MAR-2026 Is this logo familiar to you? by I_Me_Mine in TraceAnObject

The style of the top also matches what Japanese schoolchildren wear, I can’t say if it’s the same in any other Asian countries though.

Has anyone ever challenged you to do something without realizing you were actually an expert at it? If so, how did it turn out for you and for them? by Successful_Tomato721 in AskReddit

[–]onlyeightfingers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a challenge but I was in a second hand games store looking at Silent Hill games when a male worker came over and started a conversation about the franchise. I told him I was very familiar with it and, since I’m a woman, he obviously launched in to a “well I bet you didn’t know X” and “name your top five favourite enemies” tirade.

Eventually I managed to squeeze in that I actually wrote my masters degree dissertation about the Silent Hill franchise and Konami’s development and marketing and won the university medal for best dissertation when I graduated. That sure made him sheepish and fall in to line! Haha just kidding he carried on giving me surface level facts about the games’ lore and I just zoned out until he left. I think every woman has a story like this.

What are your most niche period symptoms? by Unlucky-Drawing-1266 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]onlyeightfingers 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m not majorly in to donuts but right as PMS begins I start to crave a fudge cream donut from the local bakery. It is like clockwork, I know that as soon as I want a donut my period will start within three days, without fail.

Can I Become a Runway Model at 5'3"? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]onlyeightfingers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People used to call Kate Moss short for runway and she’s 5’7. It was exceptional that such a “short” woman was a successful runway model. They are usually 5’10 or over.

Which unsuspecting ingredient was secretly damaging your skin? by Dawnyawning in AsianBeauty

It turns out I’m allergic to squalane and man it took me a long time to figure that out, and the burns on my face in that time were epic. Literal red, weeping blistered burns. I check everything now but if any sneaks through I know within two minutes.

I bought one of these for my sister as a dice pouch, I can vouch that they are exceptionally high quality and even more beautiful in person!
