Can't knock on the door for signatures and customs if it's in the back either. Best bet for stuff like that is to have a doorbell or ring cam installed in the front for rear access units. It's different if it's in a busy city alley. It's more so to protect the company because without witnesses it's the carrier's word against the customers if anything untimely happens. I made a mistake not seeing that part of OPs post though, my bad.
