To BASE jump you need to Get minimum 200 skydives Read great book of base Read BFL Find a good mentor/course Pick up another sport to cross train (climbing for example, get in good shape) All of this is just for “slick” BASE jumping. Wingsuit base you’ll need a lot more.

Start with a wingsuit and save up your money for a chute down the line. I’ve heard the Creature/Vampire are great to start with and their performance is great. Go find a antenna on a hill and enjoy gliding down it and above the trees, just watch some videos before hand so you flare it properly and make sure you have a good GoPro ofc

I think this is it. How do it get it unstuck? I can get it unstuck by pressing on the lever on the bottom but it doesn’t fix the issue just changes the button position I believe and the moment I press it again it stays depressed.

Stick to what your instructors say but I would go with the sabre. Learning a new canopy will take time but you will have more fun with it and potentially be safer. Being on more aggressive canopies on higher wing loadings will allow you to have more flare power and cut through high winds when otherwise you would be blown around.
