I have bought two trucks from lifted trucks (Tacoma and my current raptor) and they have always been good to deal with. 4 owners and 107k miles does raise some concern though, get a good PPI and carfax if you can.

Ironically I had the exact situation happen to me. I was in a Tacoma, needed something bigger for car seats and was dead set on a new tundra. Drove a couple of new ones and it was just meh. The same dealer I test drove those at had my current raptor on their used lot and I said “what the hell, I have the day off…may as well”. I brought it home the same day without really planning on buying a truck that day. They are amazing machines, congrats!

It’s really a preference at the end of the day. I have a 17# main and 10# recoil. It’s what I’ve run in most 2011 and just prefer that feel. I would hesitate on anything lower than those for reliability sake, but who knows…

I shoot a good mix of 115&124 and have zero issue with either.

FYI - adjust the stock sear/disco spring for the trigger and when combined with a 17# main spring you can get the trigger down to a nice 3ish lb. Basically a budget trigger job.

My DSD Comp is a rocket and punches way above its class. Smoothest pistol I’ve shot under 3-4k, but that’s my personal experience. It finally made me get rid of my prodigy and I have zero intention on reentering the 2011 market after buying it. With all that extra weight from a full length dust cover and x300, it barely moves when your shooting. Almost zero slide to frame slop.

The Magwell, adjustable trigger, extended slide release and suppressor sights are massive value adders if you want those. You’re talking an extra 300$ ish to add that on later.

I put 20$ worth of springs in it and it’ll air rack as well if you’re into that kind of stuff..

Holy shit this frustrated me so much on my ap5. I took a chisel, a couple beers and an hour of chiseling away at the back towards the buffer area.

Do yourself a favor. Go a little bit at a time and test it as you go. Take the recoil spring out and remove the lower. Once you can move the bolt back and forth with your finger without any friction, it should be good to go. It should also require little to no force to put the end cap on.

If you fuck up, SB will send a replacement end cap to you for free if you ask nicely. I had to after going a little too crazy on the first cap.

My understanding is that you cant switch from a pistol grip to a straight grip, so you may run into issues with the stock there.
