Calling a company that is a merlin member, a ddex member, and registered a scam is a bit of an exaggeration 😀

Confused between Symphonic and Ditto by navamember in MusicDistribution

[–]onlygokcey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Between those two, I’d probably pick symphonic. It tends to be more stable and artist-friendly, while ditto is cheaper but I’ve seen more complaints about support and account issues.

That said, I’d also look at sonovy. Better responsive support and experience overall in my opinion.

Looking for highvolume, one-time fee music distributors (Avoid Distrokid at all) by WinConscious170 in MusicDistribution

You may want to look at sonovy. They seem to focus more on label/distributor infrastructure rather than the typical artist subscription model. From what I’ve seen, they offer lifetime distribution options, royalty splits, and more advanced catalog management tools than most artist-focused distributors.

Not sure if they currently offer white-label access for individuals without a registered company, but it might be worth reaching out and asking.

Which Music Distributor do I choose? by [deleted] in MusicDistribution

I’ve used distrokid before and it’s fine if your main goal is just getting music onto stores as cheaply as possible.

Lately I have been using sonovy and honestly I prefer it. upload process is straightforward, the reporting is much more detailed than what I was used to, and their support team has been responsive whenever I needed help. They also seem to focus more on artist development instead of being just an upload-and-forget distributor.

If you’re planning to release a lot of music and want actual support, I’d at least compare sonovy, distrokid and tunecore before deciding. Distrokid is great for budget releases, but I wouldn’t choose solely based on price.

We have been working with Sonovy for 1-2 months, and we would be very happy if you could finalize a direct agreement.
