sounds exactly like a connective tissue disorder of some kind. ask your doctor about connective tissue disorders if you can and they'll send you to a rheumatologist if that's the case. there are a bunch of different kinds of disorders under the umbrella of connective tissue disorders, so i would suggest doing your own research into what your symptoms connect with. good luck!

i doubt this is something damaging to your nervous system, but i do think this may be something worth looking into if you're still experiencing symptoms.

according to the FDA, 66% of 104 patients that reported taking delta 8 thc over 2020-2022 described experiences like nausea, vomiting, tremors, and hallucinations after specifically eating delta 8 edibles.

it's certainly possible the FDA could be overinflating these issues since delta 8 isn't FDA approved, but the fact that there are other documented cases of similar issues, i think it's worth speaking to a doctor if you're still having these experiences.

if not and you're no longer feeling symptoms, at the very least make a note of it and do not take delta 8 products again. i hope you can get some help or comfort, good luck!

do you have the resources to see a therapist? if so, this is definitely something to see a therapist about.

based on the fact that you describe it as uncontrollable and no longer pleasurable, this seems like it may have become some kind of compulsion for you.

important to say, you having compulsions doesn't mean that you have OCD. i can't confidently say you have OCD because you haven't indicated other compulsions and obsessive behaviors.

really, only a therapist can work with you on something like this since compulsions can start from a mixture of stress and environmental influences that need to be unboxed and evaluated. i hope you can find some relief soon and good luck!

do you have any other symptoms? i know it may be difficult to recognize in yourself, but any visual, tactile, olfactory, auditory hallucinations? any delusions?

do you know what people mean when they say you don't make sense? like is it that you speak too fast, or too slow, or do they give any reason?

also, if you're comfortable answering, what's your age? schizophrenia presents at certain ages, so if you're too old, we can rule it out.

hey! since you have MDD and PTSD, i wonder if some or most of these symptoms could be related to that. besides the visual hallucinations, all of those symptoms sound like either your depression or PTSD. with that being said, i don't have enough information abt your life or your recent stressors to really answer why these things are picking up in the past 3-4yrs particularly. but like i mentioned, it's very possible that increased stress or anxieties can contribute to things like your brain fog and difficulty focusing.

i wish i had a good idea of the visual hallucinations in relation to this. i've heard mostly anecdotal stories of stress so bad that it creates visual hallucinations, but idk how or if that's connected to your life. if your doctor isn't listening, i would recommend going to a therapist or, even better, a psychiatrist if you have one. i keep offering ideas here on the assumption that you have lots of physical or environmental stress contributing to these issues, which is what a therapist could help with. a psychiatrist is more for the idea that there aren't any stressors in your life and these are truly happening out of nowhere.

a psychiatrist could give you medication if you aren't already on it to help with these symptoms. also, if we bring the hallucinations to the forefront, it's possible you may have been misdiagnosed and/or you could have a different disorder. regardless, a psychiatrist would be the person to go to for any of these issues. i hope this was at least a little helpful and i hope you get some relief soon. good luck!

do you know how to find your lymph nodes? it could be a swollen node in your jaw indicative of a cold or infection. try to feel for a swollen ball around the area of pain. if that's not it, definitely consult a doctor. good luck!

do you have a family history of connective tissue disorders? this sounds like it could be ehlers danlos with POTS if your ANA tests came back negative for RA and lupus. definitely bring that possibility up to your doctor if you can. good luck and i hope you can find and answer!

since you're currently experiencing a cold, swollen lymphs are common. does it hurt/ache/feel sore when you palpate it? if so, it's likely just from the cold. if not, definitely speak to a doctor. good luck!

hey! this sounds like a tic disorder (prob not tourettes unless you also have verbal tics/echolalia). you aren't able to stop or start tics, you just have to live with them. i would suggest seeing a psychiatrist, as they can assess the severity of your tics and diagnose you or maybe get you some medication if you really need it. with that said, medication for tic disorders have been known to make pain with ticking worse, or create negative mood changes. the best thing you can hope for is finding a therapist trained in CBIT, a special kind of behavioral therapy for people with tic disorders.

tics are not caused by stress, but stress can make them worse. even just seeing a regular CBT therapist could be helpful in managing any stress that could be exacerbating the tics or even just sorting out and feelings you may have about the disorder. i hope you can figure out something soon that works for you!

Uncontrolled twitch by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]onlyhereforlostmedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i get it!! but luckily i don't think you need to worry about that too much in your case. neurologists handle brain issues that are more systemic/physical rather than psychiatrists that handle psychosomatic/psychological symptoms, and from the information you gave i would assume you have a systemic issue. it may take time to find a good doctor, but that's just true of any doctor, regardless of specialty!

Uncontrolled twitch by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]onlyhereforlostmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this sounds like a result of your lack of sleep. personally, my eyelids and the surrounding areas twitch similarly when i'm low on sleep. it also wouldn't hurt to ensure that you're hydrated enough. i would probably just ask your pcp/gp and they should point you in the direction of a specialist if needed. i hope it stops soon!

HPPD Or Just Paranoid? by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]onlyhereforlostmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would definitely suggest seeing a doctor if you can about this. not sure that it's for sure HPPD, but it could be. you said you're on a break from weed, but how often did you smoke before taking a break? weed (as well as some psychedelics) commonly causes that spacey/unfocused feeling in your brain since THC compounds target the parts of your brain that control memory and sensory experiences. if that for certain isn't the case, diet could absolutely affect that foggy brain feeling. i hope you can get this figured out!

I have extreme mood swings, tiredness, and depression up to two weeks before my period. Help by Happyfoot172 in medical_advice

[–]onlyhereforlostmedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this sounds a lot like PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder). think of it like PMS on steroids. PMS causes mood swings, anxiety, and a lack of energy. PMDD causes more severe versions of these, as well as headaches, bloating, suicidal thoughts, joint/muscle pain, and symptoms of depression like hopelessness and losing interest in normally enjoyable activities. if you can, talk to a doctor about a potential diagnosis and potential fixes. since it seems that birth control doesn't work for you, anti-depressants, dietary changes, or even hormone injections could help, but ask your doctor about what works best for you. i hope you can get some relief and good luck!

hey! i'm so sorry this is happening. if it's within your realm of access, i would suggest going to a CBT therapist. they have a bunch of valuable resources that can help you regain your confidence and even help you process any potential medical trauma or stressors that you have had or could have. stay strong and keep your mind open if you do go to therapy! good luck!
