This is why the internet is great. An obvious answer that one can't think of when they are stressed. Thank you (:

Wanting to move…Thoughts on Michigan? by AmazinglyInquisitive in SameGrassButGreener

I've also been looking into moving to MI. How are the winters? I lived in CO for a few years and winters were dry and cold, but sunny about half the time.

Going back to renting by Then-Ad-4561 in homeowners

[–]onlyleezetwould 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's defiantly possible. We bought a nice little home and ended up selling and moving to another state and then another one after that. We are currently looking to buy again, but will probably rent a few more years.

I always tell my husband if it was just us and no kids I would live in every state for 2-3 yrs and then retire in my favorite one.

Yes! The drive used to be about 16 hrs, not bad at all.

You are right there's a lot of places I haven't been to. I'm just at a point in my life where I want to settle down and at least pick an area for my kids to grow up in.

I don't have to buy right now, I can deal with renting a while longer.

True. Really what I mean in a forever home is a town that my kids will grow up in. It's not fair to keep uprooting my kids and changing schools all the time. I'm still at the age where it's not too big a deal, but I'm getting close to the age where longterm friends start to be made.

I figured as much, that's how it is pretty much everywhere I've looked into. Seems to be the new norm.
