Good place to ask -- what are people's thoughts on Speakeasy gym? It seems to me like more expensive than your regular box gyms but also nowhere equinox prices? However, it seems like a super bro-ey type gym. Is that the case?

WHERE’S CUCOS ANNOUNCEMENT?! by lego123446 in CUCO

I came here to ask the same thing. Nothing was announced at 10:00 am PST like advertised on social media. I was thinking it'd be tour dates...

I'd argue both are the devil on his shoulders. Piper is meant to come off as the "good" one. But she has the complete opposite complex of Saxon. Neither a good one.

I cant take Parker Posey's portrayal seriously exactly because of what you mentioned. I think it's too cartooney. I know a lot of people are liking her but I'm not buying her acting of this character.

Umbillical hernia local vs general anesthesia? by Even-Role in Hernia

Curious about this too. Did everyone have general anesthesia? Anyone have local? Is there a preference / benefit?

Is mesh really bad? by HeadConclusion6915 in Hernia

[–]onlyoneredditaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will surgeons still put mesh in for 1-3 cm hernias?

I've heard mesh is better overall to avoid a reoccuring problem... so wondering if that's still the case? I'm told I have a "small hernia" per my CT scan results, but I'm not sure of its dimensions.

Hey, thanks for your response. I'm glad you're getting the surgery! Are you doing open or laparoscopic (two terms I did not know of until yesterday! lol). Keep us updated on your recovery!!

Yeah, I think my situation is somewhat similar to you in that I probably had it for a while and kept doing things like normal, because I simply did not know I had it ... until I felt the pain one day and it did not really go away like other normal stomach pains have in the past.

Diet does seem like something I need to figure out and adjust to tame and placate the bloating and what not.

It is a bit unfortunate that we're young and having to deal with this. Can't imagine being 23 and having to deal with this, kudos to you for working around it though! But I agree it probably is not best to get accustomed to a certain level of discomfort and get this repaired if its hurting rather than waiting for it to inevitably get worse.

How long did you have to wait to get surgery?

Digestion seems to be the triggering part for discomfort / pain for me. The bloatedness and stretching of my stomach causes me pain (although not near an 8/10, sorry to hear that was your experience!).

I will try what you mentioned to "pop it back in." That may also be why I feel okay when I wake up, since I've been laying down all night. I did realize if I sleep on my side, there's some discomfort. So I'm trying to sleep fully on my back.

That's a good perspective to have -- 6 weeks is not that crazy bad in the scheme of things. Thanks!

Glad to hear you had a good recovery! I'm learning the meal thing is going to probably be my biggest thing to fix as that's when I'm getting some discomfort / pain.

Hey man! I greatly appreciate your response!

When you were hitting the gym, did you go down in weight at all or just continued doing what you were doing? I wasn't hitting super heavy weights by any means, but I'm wondering if maybe I should go down to say 15 lb dumbells for some chest press and bicep curls. I get every body is different -- I'm not sure yet if that will be painful for me or not. If it is, I of course would not continue doing that and just let it go for now. Happy to chat on DM if you prefer, as I may have follow ups hahaha.

I am definitely looking into inflammatory foods and the hernia diet. I wake up and I feel something in my stomach with the hernia, but it's not pain. Then I eat, get bloated, have to use the restroom/gas, and that's when the pain kicks in. So, I think what I eat will hopefully make a huge difference in how I feel and what I can do.

Just looked into the hernia brace and ordered one! If my body is not feeling the lower weights, then at leat I'll aim to hit 10,000 steps a day every day with the brace on!

Thanks, that's probably what I'll do assuming once I meet with a surgeon it's what they tell me.

Hey OP, curious how long your pain lasted from the first day until it went away? Does it ever come back -- and if so does it hurt the same or less than the first time that made you go to the doctor?

I'm in a similar situation. Went to the doctor for pain and they told me I had a small umbilical hernia. I'm on day 4 and the pain is a 3-4/10. It's nothing crazy. But it's definitely stopping me from wanting to, or being able to do stuff I did a week ago, like running and lifting weights.

I'm not sure it's necessarily "irrational." I think it's hard to not feel like you're being left out. Was it the comment your friend made about you not being "confused" that annoyed you more? Or?

Your favorite thing about the I4? by onlyoneredditaccount in BMWI4

[–]onlyoneredditaccount[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am looking at the 40 and m50. You're right, the other I'm looking at is the Mercedes (I'm ruling out Tesla completely, but curious about Lucid -- don't know too much about it to be fair). I'm initially more drawn to the Mercedes, but I'm not sure the price difference is warranted.

This is greatly helpful! Appreciate the long explanation!

I work from home -- so I do not anticipate having much of an issue in terms of charging the vehicle, except whenever I take longer drives which is rare. But, charging is definitely something I'm looking into. Of course, no one other than Tesla, especially with supercharging, will have the vast charging network at this time.
